I've reviewed Chachnama accounts. It describes a Brahmin in Debal revealing the temple talisman's secret, aiding its destruction and the city's fall. Brahmins spread omens of Arab victory and advised surrenders in provinces. Dahir's Brahmin rule subjugated Buddhists, who collaborated in areas like Nerun and Siwistan. Post-conquest, Brahmins were reinstated in admin roles, while Buddhists paid tribute without special rewards. Sources vary on extents.
