Unreachable Basic Needs: While the basic food basket for a family is estimated to cost over $645 (€551), even public sector workers with bonuses may only reach $150 (€128), leaving an impossible gap that leads to severe food insecurity. This is not just a political crisis; it is a humanitarian catastrophe where 78.6% of the population lives in poverty. We cannot talk about "regional plans" or "investments" while grandparents are left "invisible" and starving. Democracy must mean more than just a vote; it must mean the right to live with dignity, to eat, and to be cared for in one's old age. Venezuelans demand a clear, immediate roadmap that prioritises human life and restores a living wage for every Venezuelan. Key Economic Facts (April 2026): Minimum Wage: 130 bolivars per month ($0.27). Annual Inflation: Estimated at over 600% . Food Security: Roughly 4 million people face severe food insecurity, with many families needing 250 times the minimum wage just to afford basic monthly groceries. Humanitarian Need: Approximately 7.9 million people within the country require immediate humanitarian assistance.
