@Paul_Briley @MartinSLewis Or energy companies have to demonstrate that revenue from standing charges is used solely for infrastructure maintenance:development - not going to shareholders, dividend payments, servicing debt etc.

1) Scrap standing charges from all utilities. They're clearly making profits from their regular business that can be used for maintenance & upkeep just like any other business. Standing charges add only cost to the consumer & serve no useful purpose especially when service is poor. 2) Ability to set a higher minimum repayment on credit cards than the actual minimum. 3) Refunds must be paid the same day or in the same length of time it took to purchase in the first place or less. 4) Every product for sale anywhere must prominently show the unit price where more than 1 is on offer.

Afternoon @zeninternet, any reported problems in the SO31 area? Getting normal upload speed but very slow download.

@MoneySavingExp Seems to report usage ok, although @BritishGas still want monthly readings too. Don’t have an in-home display though (wasn’t one here when I moved in) and apparently the only way to get one is to have the meters replaced which feels a bit excessive. And will take at least a year.

Almost three million smart meters in Britain are not working properly, according to figures from the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. So we want to know, do you have a smart meter? And if so, is it working? 💡

@MartinSLewis Thanks @MartinSLewis , just switched from @BritishGas ‘Exclusive Fixed Energy v19_EPG’ to their standard variable - should be a saving of around £90/yr (apologies for rubbish screenshot)

@MartinSLewis We have one with British Gas. It doesn't work and they have admitted it doesn't work so they've told us that it is our responsibility to give them our meter readings . They then ignore our meter readings and send us an estimated bill which is always higher than it should be 🤬🤬

No exam candidates for say 2 years means that the club is labelled ‘no active training schemes’.
