New T7/T8 complainer allways forget how bizarre and unfriendly the old Tekken system was to beginners.

@rookang1 It’s insane how many players can leave Purple Ranks without knowing how to break throws… that was unheard of in previous Tekkens

Throws are such an important part of this game so I highly encourage you all to start using it more both in casual play & especially in tournaments. Some benefits ⬇️ - Increases mental stack - great for controlling position - tracks to both sides - good against people who turtle

@Ablazeolive Well usually the way it works is the bosses are tuned around rwf and then get nerfed over time until eventually the bosses are decently easy

Unpopular opinion but RWF trivializing the content for themselves by being way stronger than anticipated is their own fault. Blizzard can't make the bosses that much harder without making the experience much worse for everyone else

@SpaghettiRip T7 developed a lot of unnecessary ws punishments for a lot of chars including Hei. One of the most notable ones was Marduk's uf2,1 +6 oH as far as I remember with 34ish damage into crouch stun. Which was also his standing punishment as well due to the input. 💀

One thing that I really liked about characters in the past is that their punishment options often meant certain matchups were difficult. E.g. Before Bryan had FC df21, doing certain lows against him was safer and it was a weakness of his. Also some chars only having i16 launchers so -15 was safer (Negan powercrush example in T7). Would be nice to unstandardise punishment carefully so characters excel or slightly struggle in matchups, rather than most characters having mostly solid options.

There's another phenomenon and that is why Tekken players don't stick/go back to previous versions of Tekken unlike Street Fighter? The only clue I got is because Tekken games gradually change their games while Street Fighter has drastic system change compared to one another.

@MPDPyro @PhiDXGames @pao_islaw Im aware, the emulator is adding more lag onto that which makes it worse. Still on it tho because Tekken 8 is doomed so not really much of a point in trying anything else

@PhiDXGames @pao_islaw Yeah people are already playing Tag 2 on an emulator with heavy input delay, we just don't really have good options because bandai never ports their games lol. Only soulcalibur you can play on modern consoles/pc is SC6 too

@tettles Cash shop would be terrible if there was no sub. Or the game would be shit. The real danger with the cherry tree specifically is it's a highly desired item, and they know it.. and you have to pay. This is really a first for them.

The weirdest thing to me with a WOW has always been the monetization model. Why do we pay a Box Price, Sub Fee, and then there is optional MTX on top of it? Same thing goes for early access, like what are we paying a sub fee for?
