Why be a celtic nationalist if you think "we're all immigrants"? How does that cohere with "2000 years is a long time to remember"? The Norman plantation of englishry towns in the 1100s was terrible, so let's invite africa in? 19th century migration into cymru contributed to a linguistic shift you want to reverse, but mass noneuropean migration won't result in culturecide? Make it make sense!🤪

🚨NEW: Reform UK overtake Plaid Cymru in Wales, Senedd Voting Intention: ➡️ REF: 30% 🟩 PLC: 28% 🌹 LAB: 15% 🌳 CON: 10% 🌍 GRN: 10% Via @Survation, 29th April

@Phil_Osophi @Brunte84 @GrantCh72178734 I suspect so. I think we’ll see a greater momentum from people desperate to keep Plaid out too, as their recent appeals to the fringe left alienate the party.

🚨A new poll by @Survation for @S4C has Reform UK 2% ahead of Plaid Cymru and winning 4 more seats, according to our projection. Headline figures: Reform UK: 30% (37 Seats) Plaid Cymru: 28% (33 Seats) Labour: 15% (13 Seats) Conservatives: 10% (7 Seats) Green: 10% (5 Seats) Liberal Democrats: 4% (1 seat) Other: 4%

Idris was born around 1995, to Sudanese parents in Oman. Speaking at a ‘Sudafest’, he describes Sudan as “home” and says that the country“lives inside him”. He came to Wales at the age of four.

You don't understand what is going to be taken away from you. Things will seem normal even while lunatics like me rant and rave about immigration, and they will seen mad. Then one day you will wake up and realise all at once that they were right, and you are now an alien in the land of your fathers. The towns will swarm with strangers who see no need to accommodate you. They will look at you coldly as foreign language shops spring up, and burka-wearing women shuffle by, casting disparaging glances in your direction. Gatherings of foreign men will watch you suspiciously as you go past. Occasionally, some African will walk past you in town, ranting in some schizophrenic fashion about whatever ghosts occupy his head. Then you will understand, and you will wish you had paid heed earlier.

This is Elbashir Idris. You may recognise him. He recently featured in a Plaid campaign video in which he pledged to “stand up for Wales”. Following a joke posted by @Arron_Banks on X, Plaid accused him of thinking that “black people can’t be Welsh”. We’ve done some digging 🧵
