@Choyaa13 Have you not been paying attention… He says he is His supporters say he is MANY Christian leaders say he is He’s now the global face of Christianity… Seems “some what mad” to me…but it is what it is VERY LITTLE push back from Christianity…I assume most are “happy enough”

@Choyaa13 He’s the most prominent Christian in the world… I’ve barely heard any criticism of him from his fellow Christians… I’m taking this as active/tacit support

The world’s most important price for physical oil barrels soared to its highest on record. Dated Brent, which helps price much of the world’s actual oil barrels, hit $144.42 on Tuesday, according to Platts, a unit of S&P Global Energy.

Agree with every word of this by ⁦@stephenkb⁩. Daft words by govt blaming profiteering, dafter proposals from opposition wanting subsidies and tax cuts. In real world there is less oil, it costs more, we are worse off. giftarticle.ft.com/giftarticle/ac…

Key food commodity prices since US-Iran war started: 🍚 Rice: ⬇️ -6.3% 🌾 Wheat: ⬇️ -0.5% 🥫 Soybean: ⬆️ +0.6% 🌽 Corn: ⬆️ +2.7% As with everything else in this war, all depends on escalation. But talk about a "food crisis" or a "food shock" is premature.

Always amazed at the complacency in Ireland around the risk of democratic backsliding. The main opposition party has an un-disbanded private army, doesn't recognise the Irish state's defence forces as the only legitimate army, still glorifies its private army's past killings, has the objectives below in its constitution and plenty more that make it unique in terms of large European political parties.

Democratic Backsliding: Books The topic of democratic erosion or backsliding has become a focus on interest among political scientists. To catch up on this literature, these are some books I would recommend.

👀 Blimey @energy_said (one of the smartest energy analysts around) calculates that if oil continues to be disrupted as it is today it "would push prices upwards by $1/bbl per day, until prices surpassed $250/bbl, while almost zeroing global GDP growth." Totally catastrophic.

This is something that needs tackled ASAP… I speak as a 60yr old (nearly boomer😵‍💫🤪)…who’s “done well” out of this… But my kids & “society” not so much… I’m kind of stunned it’s still controversial to have affordable housing 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫
Sam Bowman@s8mb

It’s actually a bad thing that 40% of people’s salaries go on paying for homes that have gotten *smaller* since the Second World War while they were increasing in size across the rest of Western Europe.

This feels like the “right take”… I speak as an Ulster season ticket holder who attended the game… I would say that so many more of the Osprey’s passes were “more forward” than this…especially “back inside short” type of passes they use a lot
Stuart Barnes@SBarnesRugby

It is forwards but how many `more forward' passes were not called? And who wants TMOs calling a halt for every narrow call? The decision is right, it's also, in a broader way, wrong....do you want TMOs or not?

@DanMulhall That’s (sadly) a super niche view within unionism… Taking EBGAA (a club founded EXPLICITLY as something of a rebuke to more “militantly republican” GAA clubs)… Its treatment has been shocking…even to me There’s not going to be any “cultural outreach” from unionism

For those who value the union, reaching out to the nationalist community ought to be a priority. Acknowledging the Irish language seems an ideal way of signalling respect for nationalist culture & showing it can be accommodated within NI & the UK. Those who back a UI need to find ways of accommodating unionist identity. 👇
