Might as well just come out and say that you just hate the DCU and really seems like you just can not handle Superhero films with wonder and whimsy in it and I love how you just have to foster this 'popularity' contest when in reality dc having 'elseworlds like the batman' gives them a huge advantage over the MCU where directors can come on in and tell their stories on these characters.
Also to just dismiss the main DCU with 'people still think that the mainline DCU is going to be where the money is?" meanwhile over time it will make more and more money and using that is just a false equivalency outright.

My son came over today for a BBQ. We often like to watch movies together when we do this. I asked him to pick a movie....he said "Let's watch the new Superman. Haven't seen it since it came out." 30 minutes in he asked me to turn it off. He couldn't take it any more. Keep in mind, I did not give my own opinion of the film at anytime.

DC fans will never grasp the fact that this is good writing. It’s his first day as Superman and first time in a fight. Your first instinct when something is thrown at you is to dodge. He didn’t expect it to explode, which is why he looks back in shock.
I know CBM fans aren’t used to good writing, and characters just magically become great at everything when they put on a suit, but that isn’t realistic nor is it good writing.
No wonder why the CBM genre is seen as mindless slop for the most part. That’s all the fans understand.
