Today in Strasbourg Deputy FM Artur Harazim hosted Legal Advisers of members of the Council of the Baltic Sea States #CBSS - 🇩🇰 🇪🇪 🇫🇮 🇮🇸 🇱🇹 🇱🇻 🇩🇪 🇳🇴 🇸🇪 🇪🇺. 🇵🇱 Presidency in the Council actively promotes the CBSS as a platform for developing proposals to strengthen the international law of the sea framework. Our priority remains increasing the protection of critical underwater infrastructure, as well as effectively combating the so-called clunker fleet, including in the Baltic Sea region.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs @sikorskiradek officially welcomed all participants of the informal meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Council of the Baltic Sea States. All members of @CBSSsecretariat are present: 🇵🇱, 🇮🇸, 🇸🇪, 🇱🇻, 🇱🇹, 🇩🇰, 🇳🇴, 🇩🇪, 🇫🇮 and 🇪🇪 and 🇪🇺 represented by the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy @kajakallas.  This is the first in-person meeting of Foreign Ministers in the history of the CBSS held outside the regular calendar, delivering on one of the priorities of the Polish Presidency – intensifying dialogue at the high political level.

In Strasbourg, I briefed the ambassadors of the Committee of Ministers of the @coe, at an event organized by @EUatCoE and @PLPermRepCoE. I thanked European countries for their solidarity with the Belarusian people, their principled non-recognition of the Lukashenka regime, and their support for political prisoners. We discussed visa policy and mobility, problems with documents and passports, sanctions and accountability, transnational repression and abuse of Interpol, support for independent media and culture, and continued backing for Ukraine. We are working with 🇪🇺 states and @EUHomeAffairs to prevent Belarusians in exile from becoming stateless. At our request, 🇪🇸 recognized expired passports, and 🇩🇰🇳🇴 began issuing alien passports to Belarusians. In 🇱🇹, documents are valid for three years, and 🇵🇱 provides international protection. These are good examples that need to be expanded. I also welcomed 🇺🇦’s new approach toward Belarus. Our elites, army, and society are watching Ukraine with hope. I believe that in the event of a ceasefire, Ukraine’s role for Belarus will become even more significant. Belarus is part of Europe. And we will return home.
