@brendangrady11 @Neutral_OC No, again, I was actually asking for an explanation. If I was opinionated I wouldn’t bother. Also, I’m just as likely to use an image I took of an interesting brutalist building from the 1950s or my cats. You seem to think that using an image equates to worshipping the subject.

@PatGrove2 @Neutral_OC Just a bit weird that you were so opinionated on a nice religious moment and you pay homage to some stones 😂😂😂

When a woman dressed her baby as a pope and Pope Leo paused his parade to bless the child. Look at the faces of all those men 🥹

@standev9 @Neutral_OC Well technically, the saints are quite similar historically. If you look at things from a logical and historical perspective. In my humble opinion.

@PatGrove2 @Neutral_OC The pope is the vicar (or deputy) of Jesus Christ on earth. He is the successor to St Peter, the Prince of the Apostles, and thus is regarded as an important figure. A papal blessing is something people avidly seek.

@PatGrove2 @Neutral_OC Well, first there was Jesus Then there was Simon Then Jesus called Simon “Peter”, & made him the 1st Pope of His church Then Peter was martyred, & the keys got passed on, & on, alllllll the way to Pope Leo Just as Jesus is present in our Eucharist, Peter is present in every Pope

@TallGuySeven @Neutral_OC Depends on the event mate. I’d quite enjoy watching the reconstruction of the death of Caesar at Torre Argentina.

@JuandeMurcia0 @Neutral_OC No, I was asking someone to explain this particular one. I’m guessing you don’t understand the nuance of conversation.

@powerzero @Neutral_OC Reaching for the troupes I see because you have nothing constructive to add to the conversation. Tell you what though, insulting people who are trying to understand religion and traditions isn’t going to endear them to them. Also, liberal isn’t an insult, thank you.

@brendangrady11 @Neutral_OC I have an image of Stonehenge because it is an interesting place to visit and take photographs, not because I worship it. Not sure what your point is. Still, great way to demonstrate that you are not Christian I suppose.

@jondholiday @Neutral_OC Are you a Christian Jon? Only your attitude isn’t. My feed isn’t all negative actually. I have an enquiring mind, something that would benefit you rather than just insulting people who say things you don’t like.

@PatGrove2 @Neutral_OC Your banner is Stonehenge, ancient rocks that were worshipped and used as a burial site lol Additionally, everything on your page is a negative with no prompt or promotion of building or improving anything, you’re an absolute cretin

@PatGrove2 @Neutral_OC I’ve never kissed the feet of a statue, but I’ve kissed a crucifix before. No one is worshipping the pope, he’s just recognized as the successor to Saint Peter, and as the direct apostolic successor of the original 12 apostles of Christ. It’s a 2,000 year old tradition.

@FlyLionel @Neutral_OC Thank you. I understand the tradition part. But the question is really why not how. Why haven’t things changed over time? Everything changes. Also, how can popes be traced back to Peter? I find it very difficult to believe that information exists.

Matthew 16:18 'On this Rock, I will build my Church.' Jesus Christ says. St Peter(Leader of the Apostles) killed(Crucified upside down cross)solidfying the early Church in Rome. All Popes in line of succession have been traced back to Peter since. No one is worshipping the Pope, yes the Vicar of Christ isn't wearing a hoodie in skinny jeans like pastor Bob does, he's wearing garments fitting of the most important person in Christendom. Traditions and standards reaching hundreds/thousand+ years. Ritual stuff? Like icons and crosses? 7th ecumenical council, prior to mass printing press. People can look at an icon/statue and know its Mother Mary(Gods greatest creation), they can know its Saint Valentine(Executed for marrying couples while marriage was illegal, also where Valentines day comes from) in the icon visually. People couldn't read, they didn't have the internet or books anytime anywhere. You can intercede with the use of a rosary but no one is worshipping a rosary/statue as God. Kissing grandmas picture isn't weird. Its quite normal. Catholics have the Papacy as a form of hierarchy/governance. Over a billion of us exist. Bless you(Pope Gregory encouraged during the bubonic plague for people to say bless you when someone sneezed for their protection) from 🇨🇦🙏🏼

@PatGrove2 @Neutral_OC basically they are extremely educated religious scholars, and within the church it’s quite a lot of work to become a cardinal or bishop. the Pope himself is seen as a continuation of Peter, from the Bible
