@zanief_ That only applies to the 1st season villian and even then that wasnt aangs fault. Aang took away amons fathers bending and his father pushed his problems onto his sons. Thats like blaming the cabbage guys cart being wrecked constantly on Avatar Roku
English

@jikhaine @Finnawoken @zukodivo “At this very point in the show” cut to aang being outclassed by azula at every fight
English

@Finnawoken @zukodivo Nah at this very point in the show, he's definitely top 10, in no order the list would look smth like this (Iroh, Bumi, Paku, Jon Jon, Aang, Azula, Toph, Katara, Zuko)
English

@hayleyafterriot Me when i haven’t watched none of the shows.
“In the era before the Avatar, we bent not the elements, but the energy within ourselves”
Korra just got lost knowledge from Aang, everyone can learn it, as the lion turtles are not part of the avatar cycle, so you just type anything
English

Yet no one has any logical explanation as to how a destroyed and reset raava kept something she originally never had. It’s so funny how y’all think you’re on this intellectual high horse when the material says otherwise and the creators of said material-

Bottom of the barrel stupidity 😭 there is no way
English

@Sultanee2_0 @_ema_nuel They launch themselves, they don’t fly, aang on the movie need the avatar state to do it
English

@_ema_nuel Yes he can, Zuko did it, Iroh did it in Legend of Korra without even struggling and so did Azula
English

@Kenzokings1 @DanHarmone Oh yeah then they just destroy the whole place and run
English

@PerimDecio @DanHarmone By killing her while she was in that state, they intended to end the Avatar cycle forever. Get your facts right. They were never scared of her
English

This argument only works if you ignore what Korra actually went through. Saying she had peace, mentors, and resources is technically true but completely misleading. Korra was raised in isolation, overprotected, and trained in a controlled environment that actively stunted her growth as an Avatar. She had bending teachers, not real-world experience, which is why she struggles when she finally faces actual political, spiritual, and ideological conflicts.
And ‘peace’ doesn’t mean ‘easy.’ Korra didn’t inherit a war, she inherited a world full of systemic problems: inequality (Amon), spiritual imbalance (Unalaq), anarchism (Zaheer), and authoritarian expansion (Kuvira). These are far more complex than a single enemy nation, they’re ideological conflicts with no simple solution.
Also, she didn’t ‘make things harder,’ she made decisions under uncertainty without the safety net of past Avatars after Harmonic Convergence. Unlike Aang, she couldn’t rely on accumulated wisdom. Every mistake she makes is part of her learning curve in a world that doesn’t have clear answers.
Reducing all of that to ‘she had it easy and messed up anyway’ ignores her trauma, her growth, and the complexity of the problems she faced. It’s not analysis, it’s just flattening the character.

Killua🥤@Zzol_dyck
Korra had mentors, resources, and peace… and still made things harder than they needed to be 🙂↔️

Aang fought Ty Lee the originator of chi blocking and she couldn’t touch him once.
Even his grandson Meelo a 5 years old kid, beat chi blockers very easily with just air bending but you somehow think Aang that had all 4 elements will lose because Korra lost.
Korra fans are too delusional.
Bigsmokes 🗣️@smokesthegiant
unpopular opinion… if aang fought against chi blockers, i feel he would have lost
English

@Alhaji_dubaa Aang was captured by archers, the show would’ve ended there if zuko didnt save him
English

@christ621ml She starts the show by becoming a fire master and beating multiple masters at the same time, a thing she already did for the other 2 elements
English

@Kenzokings1 @DanHarmone Oh and dont forget that aang killed his friends on the movie bcs he couldn’t listen to katara, once again katara teaching aang how to be the avatar
English

@DanHarmone Aang lock himself for hundred years and still came out wise. He listen to advice from his team and older people. Doesn't rush into battles anyhow. Korra is the opposite
English

@Kenzokings1 @DanHarmone He was supposed to think about his actions and not give reason for a whole community to be destroyed
English

@PerimDecio @DanHarmone So he should have gone to fight when he hasn't learn the other bending and the avatar state
English

@PerimDecio @DanHarmone All the times he entered the avatar state, he never killed anyone one. You don't have any proof that he would have kill them
English

@Kenzokings1 @DanHarmone Kuvira knew, just like zuko did against azula, that she could win just because she was unstable (which she could not, because when Korra was about to end her she panicked)
English

@Kenzokings1 @DanHarmone The difference about him and Korra is that Korra dealt with her problems, Aang ran from them.
She was impulsive on her first fight against amon and trusting unalak, which is completely understandable as her family was keeping things from her
English

It was a point that was constantly brought up in the original series that Roku took till he was middle aged to master every element, and that for pretty much every Avatar it was supposed to be a lifelong process to learn everything. Neither Korra nor Aang actually mastered all of them, but it was always supposed to be a situation where the Avatar learns their home bending style first and then branches out.
English

This scene is a good example of my issue with metalbending in Korra. In the original series, Toph had to be in physical contact with the metal, because it was much harder to bend than actual earth, because she was bending the impurities within it.
Meanwhile, the metal bending in Korra is basically the opposite, they actually bend with far more precision than anyone bends earth with, which doesn't make any sense.
It's kinda in the same vein as the lavabending, where instead of applying any actual logic to it, they treated the bending as pure sorcery. Korra doesn't learn it from anyone, she just has it, because she has more Bending Midiclorians than everyone else, I guess.
