They say poverty is a disease, but they never tell you how it can make the person you love walk away. 19 years ago, my wife left me and our 3-year-old daughter because she didn’t want to suffer. I was broken, but I had no choice, I had to keep going. I hustled on the streets of Lagos, skipped meals so my daughter could eat, and did everything to keep her in school. When she turned 7, I lost my mother and became both father and mother. Today, that little girl has made me proud. She just graduated from the Army. Poverty is not the end, it’s just a phase. I am the proudest father alive. Congratulations to my daughter. 🤲✨
