@Project_Boro And Milwall have a stacked squad ?

Remember saying post Oxford, Boro have 13/14 top players, but overall a pretty average squad. The drop off when big players are missing still remains way too big. Was it unrealistic to expect the same 13/14 players to continue at the level avoiding injuries and losses in form?

@Joe__Monty Me too mate, tbh I just want us to finish the season in as good form as we can, if it’s enough for top 2 it’s a bonus, if not, hopefully it helps us head into the playoffs with some form and confidence

@Project_Boro I look at our fixtures, and realistically we have a great chance of winning atleast 5 of the last 6. Swansea on Monday im most worried about. Just going to be another case of dominating every game but having the composure in front of goal. 😲 Think we'll need 16 out of 18 pts.

How we all feeling today? I was surprisingly calm, and almost accepting of our fate now, that being playoffs. Today, the feeling is just emptiness. Spent most of the day just sat in silence scrolling through social media. Feel completely hollow and empty, it’s horrible. 😐

@Tomoneill84 @MetTedBoro I don’t think it’s negative, I think it’s realistic. 71 points after 40 games in most seasons is solid playoffs, that’s where I think we are. Usually 2PPG is what you need for top 2. We’ve fallen away from that. Well comfortable compete for playoffs if we back KH

@PickersDanny We’re not pathetic, look at our form, look at the trends, it’s more than one result, we’re sinking into the playoffs after being 2nd for over 200 days of the season.

@Tomoneill84 @MetTedBoro Be enough for top 6, we won’t get as good of a shot of top 2 like this again for a long time IMO. Our points tally current in a normal champ season would probably have us 4th to 6th, so if we manage to match this next season, it’ll still only be a playoff campaign at best

@Tomoneill84 @MetTedBoro I disagree. Even then Ipswich and Southampton have still fought for top 2 and top 6. Birmingham and Wrexham (if they don’t go up) will come on strong. God forbid if a Forest/West Ham come down, or Tottenham. Even if we match this points tally next season, it’ll probably…

@MetTedBoro @Tomoneill84 As for a record breaking season, the lineup of sides in the league next season looks tough, we won’t be in an automatic promotion race like this again for a long long time. The stars aligned for us this season to get top 2, sadly we’re absolutely blowing it.

@MetTedBoro @Tomoneill84 We might get £20m if we’re lucky and as always only a fraction of that will go on signings, a lot of it will go into the running of the club. We refused to sell him in the hope we’d get promoted this season, and if we don’t he might help fund 2 or 3 players at a push

Year after year we’re seeing sides come to Boro, and celebrate their way to promotion. Teams who’ve been behind us and overtaken us. Sunderland, Coventry, Millwall (?) I hope we’re not going round in the same cycle like we did under MC, here’s hoping this has a better ending.

If we somehow get over the line, top 2 or playoffs, the job he’ll have done will be INCREDIBLE. But it’s looking like naff squad building once again is gunna cost us. Give him a good enough squad, the futures bright. But will we?

Kante £2.5m Hansen £3m Sene £1.5m £7m in summer signings effectively written off as the manager clearly doesn’t rate any of them given their minutes. Chuck in the £3m commitment to buy Sarmiento (which I hope we can get out of) and that’s £10m, while this is our bench.
