Another update to the map. Seeing as more Tankers are now approaching Ireland from the north sea, I've decided to make another zone. Just a reminder I monitor sanctioned tankers approaching Ireland and remove them when they pass.

🚨🇷🇺🇸🇾 Is russian corvette STOIKIY already back in Tartus (Syria - سوريا) ? It appears that STOIKIY has returned to Syria less then 3 weeks after leaving. What could be the reason ? - Technical failure ? - Too scared to navigate in the mediterranean sea right now ? - Closer ties with the new syrian authorities ? The presence of russian navy tanker YELNYA, it was already visible there on March 10 and 15, could point in this direction... Have Syrians already forgotten what Moscow put them through by backing Bashar?

🛰️ **OSINT Update** – SSV-231 *Vasiliy Tatishchev* (Project 864 Vishnya-class AGI) Maintenance works started at the end of 2025 at the 33 Ship Repair Plant in Baltiysk appear to be completed. After a short cycle of sea trials, the Russian electronic intelligence ship could soon be redeployed to the Mediterranean (MED). The vessel has a well-documented history of operations in the region. In the current US-Iran crisis, such a deployment would represent a logical move to provide SIGINT/ELINT support aligned with Iranian interests. Stay tuned for any movement out of the Baltic. #RussianNavy #OSINT #Mediterranean

Maps from MarineTraffic show that dozens of oil tankers are holding position in the Gulf of Finland, unable to dock at the Ust Luga or Primorsk oil terminals in Russia. Ukraine's oil "sanctions" are thoroughly enforced upon Russia in this sector.

The DEYNA (IMO 9299903), a 250-meter Aframax crude oil tanker, was reportedly seized by the French Navy on the 20th of March 2026 while transiting the Mediterranean Sea, on suspicion of false-flagging. The 21-year-old vessel is sanctioned by OFAC, the EU, and the UK, and operates without P&I coverage. In the weeks preceding the reported seizure, the DEYNA displayed behavior consistent with shadow-fleet tradecraft. Having previously operated under the Tonga flag as MMSI 570389700, the DEYNA returned to the vicinity of Murmansk, Russia, where she reflagged to Mozambique on the 23rd of February 2026 and updated her MMSI to 650000121. AIS data indicates that the DEYNA entered Kola Bay on the 27th of February and departed on the 1st of March. During that period, the crew-entered draft increased from 9 meters to 14 meters, indicating likely cargo loading. The DEYNA then transited toward the Mediterranean, crossing the Strait of Gibraltar on the 18th of March, where she was imaged by Theia. On the 20th of March, AIS transmissions ceased. Reports indicate that the DEYNA was seized the same day. On the 23rd of March, AIS transmissions resumed, placing the DEYNA at anchor in Golfe de Fos-sur-Mer, France. Theia subsequently confirmed the DEYNA's presence there on the 23rd and 30th of March. Theia ingests more than 30 million km² of satellite imagery daily, fusing electro-optical and SAR imagery with global AIS data to detect, identify, and track vessels regardless of AIS manipulation or identity fraud. Extensive imagery archives provide the evidential proof necessary to hold bad actors accountable.

@MrFrantarelli Unclear how long the unit has been absent from the Baltic. With no confirmed merchant escort activity, a redeployment toward the Mediterranean (MED) remains possible. Further monitoring required to assess intent.

The ALISA (IMO 9113135) is a 30-year-old, 127-meter oil products tanker flagged in Comoros. In early 2025, she conducted an undisclosed port call at Benghazi Old Port, Libya, while spoofing her AIS location, all the while tracked by SynMax’s maritime domain awareness platform, Theia. The story begins in February 2025, with the ALISA at anchor off Alexandria, Egypt. On the 24th of February, she came alongside to dock at berth 87/4 of the Petro Basin Terminal, and departed two days later. Theia detected her spoofing her AIS location on the 28th of February, broadcasting a false position indicating a path towards Malta. Despite the manipulated AIS picture, Theia maintained visual custody of the ALISA, detecting her at anchor near Benghazi, and alongside in Benghazi Old Port, where she was imaged on the 28th of March. It is assessed that the vessel remained in the area until the 22nd of April. On the 23rd, the ALISA resumed legitimate AIS transmissions while transiting eastward across the Mediterranean towards Port Said anchorage. Between the 1st and 7th of May, Theia identified the ALISA conducting three ship-to-ship (STS) transfers in rapid succession with the CHARMINAR (IMO 9318022), the RIGEL (IMO 9296406), and the MERSIN (IMO 9428683). A pattern of multiple consecutive transfers, such as these, is consistent with attempts to obscure a cargo's point of origin. The ALISA is not currently listed under any P&I Club and was previously referenced in a United Nations report following a previous port call to Benghazi Old Port in 2023. Her 2025 operational profile follows an established pattern documented by the UN, in which small tankers load at Benghazi before transiting east to conduct STS transfers off Port Said, using the Suez Canal exit channel to relay cargo to larger vessels bound for onward markets. To detect such behavior, Theia ingests more than 30 million km² of satellite imagery every day, fusing it with global AIS and additional intelligence sources to automatically detect, identify, and track tens of thousands of vessels across oceans, regardless of their AIS output. Agentic AI tools enable precise interrogation of vast pre-processed, auditable datasets, further multiplying the analyst's ability to deliver high-quality intelligence to decision-makers.

🚨MASSIVE: Russia Saves India From Ongoing LNG Crises, Sends LNG to India After 50 Years. India’s long-term strategy of energy diversification is beginning to deliver tangible results at a critical geopolitical moment. As tensions escalate in West Asia and disruptions emerge around the Strait of Hormuz, a corridor responsible for nearly 20% of global oil and 30% of LNG flows, India has managed to insulate itself from severe energy shocks. A major shift is underway in India’s energy sourcing pattern. Historically, nearly 50% of India’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) imports came from the Middle East. However, India is now preparing to import LNG from Russia—marking a significant policy evolution. Since the Russia-Ukraine conflict began, India had avoided Russian LNG due to sanctions complexities, even while increasing crude oil imports. This shift signals a decisive move to expand Russia’s role beyond crude oil into gas supply as well. The development follows high-level diplomatic engagement, including discussions between External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Russian leadership. A verbal understanding has emerged where Russia could become a major LNG supplier to India, complementing its existing dominance in crude exports. This transition is not without challenges. Unlike LPG, which is largely exempt from sanctions due to its domestic usage, LNG is categorized as an industrial fuel and remains under tighter scrutiny. The United States has provided sanction waivers for crude oil in certain cases, but LNG imports remain sensitive. Despite this, India’s stance is increasingly clear: national interest will take precedence, with or without formal waivers. Simultaneously, India is expanding its energy partnerships beyond traditional suppliers. Brazil has emerged as a new entrant in this equation, offering crude oil in exchange for India’s refining expertise. With vast reserves but limited refining capacity, Brazil sees India—home to some of the world’s largest and most complex refineries—as a strategic partner. This opens a dual advantage: secure crude supply for India and technological collaboration for Brazil. At a time when multiple economies are facing energy stress, India’s relative stability stands out. The Philippines has declared a national energy emergency, Pakistan is grappling with soaring fuel prices, and Bangladesh is seeking significant financial assistance to manage its energy crisis. In contrast, India has maintained relative price stability in petrol and diesel, aided by calibrated tax cuts and diversified sourcing. Despite isolated instances of panic buying, there is no structural shortage of fuel in India. As one of the world’s leading refining hubs, India processes crude from multiple geographies and exports refined products globally, including to Europe. Any disruption to India’s supply chain would have cascading effects on several international markets—making sustained inflows of crude a strategic necessity not just for India, but for global energy stability. India’s broader energy roadmap also reflects structural shifts. The country aims to increase the share of natural gas in its energy mix from around 6% to 15%, with LNG playing a central role in this transition. This further underscores the importance of diversifying LNG sources beyond the Middle East. In effect, India is executing a multi-vector energy strategy—balancing relations with Russia, the United States, and emerging suppliers like Brazil—while safeguarding domestic stability amid global volatility.

Russian naval units Sub Krasnodar and TUG Altay likely departed the port of Oran on April 26 at 10:00 UTC. Their next destination remains unknown. Two main scenarios are assessed: they may be heading toward the Strait of Gibraltar, possibly returning to the Baltic Fleet, or proceeding deeper into the central or eastern Mediterranean for continued operations or repositioning. Lack of AIS data and official confirmation requires caution; both routes remain speculative pending further tracking.
