thanks to @AtlasObserver for pointing out the mis-identification of the MV Ocean Trader. It would appear that this was the Anvil Point (IMO 9248540)

Notable Activity at 🇴🇲Duqm: FIRMS Signatures & High-Value Naval Transits Following reports of Iranian strikes targeting port infrastructure in 🇴🇲Duqm, recent thermal and satellite data suggests an interesting timeline of USN assets utilizing the port recently 🔸FIRMS (VIIRS/NOAA-21) data from July 12, 2026, shows two distinct anomalies just north of the main port complex. While these signatures coincide with the reported timeline of the attacks, higher res needed to verify damage vs routine operations 🔸Return of High-Value USN Assets - Low-resolution Sentinel-2 imagery suggests a notable return to Duqm by the U.S. Navy, which had previously minimized its footprint here during earlier rounds of tension with Iran. July 8: Pretty confident the MV Ocean Trader was in port. This marks a significant shift in her deployment pattern after a long stint operating out of the lagoon at Diego Garcia. June 28: Prior to the Ocean Trader's arrival, a hull profile consistent with an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer was also spotted berthed in the port. The presence of command and combat platforms over the last two weeks underscores Duqm's strategic significance for 5th Fleet ops Now we wait for clear skies and satellite passes to confirm the extent of the impact.

@NotSo_Malicious I merely thought it was interesting that all 4 at some point had made a claim (and unsurprisingly the US was also involved🤣). ⚽️winner take all?

The Falklands/Malvinas Dispute: A 2026 World Cup Semifinal Bracket Turns out every single country left standing has a historical claim to the Falkland Islands/Malvinas. 🇫🇷 France (1764): Scored the opening goal. Established the very first permanent settlement on East Falkland (Port Louis) before getting bored and selling it to Spain a few years later. 🇬🇧 England (Britain) (1765): Claimed the islands a year later when Captain John Byron showed up for King George III. They set up camp, left a plaque, abandoned it, came back in 1833, and haven't left since. 🇪🇸 Spain (1767): Bought out the French claim, renamed to Puerto Soledad, ran the islands with a succession of governors until the Spanish American wars forced them out in 1811. 🇦🇷 Argentina (1820s–1833): Claimed the territory by right of succession from Spain. Actually settled it, built a cattle ranching / sealing community—right up until the British navy arrived in January 1833 to expel the garrison and take it back. The Wildcard (kind of like VAR🤣): 🇺🇸 United States (1831): Luis Vernet (🇦🇷 Governor) tried to enforce a sealing monopoly by capturing American whaling ships. In retaliation, the U.S. sent the warship USS Lexington. She destroyed the fortifications, arrested several residents for piracy, and declared the islands free of any government. The resulting chaos left the door wide open for that 1833 British return.

🇺🇦 Strikes Sea of Azov Sentinel 2 (11 Jul): A ~100m 🇷🇺dark fleet tanker (likely) is burning (~61km from Berdyansk, ~113km from Kerch). False color visualization likely indicates an active fire. Have you seen this reported anywhere else yet? 👇
