Bob Ferguson’s first approval rating is the lowest in over 30 years A Cascade PBS/Elway poll found Ferguson has the lowest first-six-months job rating of any governor since Democratic Gov. Mike Lowry in 1993. Only 32% of voters would rate Ferguson’s first six months as “excellent” or “good.” That’s eight points lower than Jay Inslee’s first-six-months rating, 11 points lower than Christine Gregoire’s, and 20 points lower than Gary Locke’s at the same point in their first terms. Twenty-two percent of respondents said Ferguson was doing a “fair” job, and 31% said he was doing a poor job.

If you make under $184k, you pay a 12.4% Social Security tax rate. Everything after that cap is exempt from the tax. So if you make $1 million per year, you pay about 2.2%. And it's 0.002% for billionaires. If we lifted the cap, Social Security could be funded for decades.

@RadRandolph @PNWConservative The problem with cars is that they are used maybe 5% of the time. The rest of the time they sit. When you go to self driving “cabs”, utilization rates scream up to significantly higher %. Thus, you don’t need as many. 1 million in cars, 100k on trains daily now. Clear winner.

The state-of-the-art Climate Pledge Arena already hosts professional basketball and hockey with the Storm, Kraken, and Torrent in front of a dedicated fanbase. And we know we have the best fans in the NBA. Bringing the Sonics back is a top priority, and the state will be a strong partner in this effort. I plan to be there at tipoff with thousands of fellow fans when the Sonics return.

There have been stories of teens turning to AI chatbots in times of distress before tragically ending their lives. Speaking as a governor, and as a father of teenage twins, we must ensure safeguards are in place. I just signed my bill to require AI companion chatbots like ChatGPT to implement protocols to detect and respond when an individual expresses thoughts of suicide or harming themselves. It also requires content filters for minors that prevent generation of suggestive or sexually explicit content and prohibits the use of manipulative engagement techniques with minors. Thank you to Sen. Wellman and Rep. Callan.
