February 2026 ABS data: 4.3% unemployment, record employment, participation rate 66.9%. That is near full employment. Low, stable inflation is what actually protects welfare recipients via CPI indexation. Treasurer Jim Chalmers wants to blame the war in Iran for everything, including the problems he caused. The fact is inflation was already out of control before overseas conflicts erupted.
