@WrestleRant I’d honestly be willing to bet TK knows that there’s nothing to do for Jericho there. It’s the idea that WWE can’t get him if he’s on the AEW roster. (See: TK adding injury time to contracts when talent says they want to leave.)

@_IGI_Media_ @iJordanMoore Exactly right. We’ll learn which umps are actually bad at calling balls/strikes, and which ones are just human and miss occasionally. The latter will adjust and get better, the former will be forced out.

@iJordanMoore Everyone is saying "the umps are bad the umps are bad" No, there's a system now that when there's a bad call it can be rectified. we've been subjected to the entire league trying this new system, so we've been inundated while the sloppiness of the league is adjusted. The formula: Good pitches and good calls + 50% of the challenged calls are still good officiating. * because some of the pitches get challenged doesn't me all calls are bad. What happens next is called a pendulum swing. In life when a new rule is imposed, people adjust: * often they over compensate The umps will shrink the zone slightly, and work on their craft so it fits. CB and a handful of other umps will be forced to adjust or remove themselves from plate duty. Pitchers lose the outside area around the zone. The next topics are the zone variance from player to player, and the location of the new strike zone. We'll see the scoring impacted (both good and bad) We'll see teams and players wasting challenges to their own detriment.

Nobody’s really talking about it yet, but ABS is going to completely change the catcher position. Framing isn’t dead but now you’ve got to manage challenges, read hitters/umps, and pick your spots in real time. That’s a whole new skillset. It’ll be coached in the minors, baked into development, and eventually standard at the college level. Catchers are hitting on 60% of their challenges right now… that’s game-changing.
