I'm creating a local newsletter covering weekly events and happenings along the Dolphin Coast in South Africa. Human-edited, completely free, no politics or drama. Building it in public here. The core challenge is gathering event data cost-effectively. My plan is to use AI to automate most of that process. Distribution will be word of mouth.

I own 3 shorts, 5 t-shirts, 2 socks, 5 undies, 1 sweater, 1 trouser, and 2 pairs of shoes. My wife owns just a little more than that. Our closet fits in a backpack. It's been a game-changer for travelling the world in the past 2 years.

Its becoming extremely clear to me that using AI through CLIs is a much worse experience than using AI through a macos desktop app

> My colleague just lived with me in Vietnam for a month with her 11yo and he’s being homeschooled Mine was homeschooled originally, but she's extremely social and needed to be around other kids. But at the same time, traveling through other countries could make up for it! I think I will ask her 🙂

Being a digital nomad is amazing Anyone should try it at least once in their lifetime Although its dangerous, you might like it too much and never come back

@enjojoyy My job is already full-time remote, but kids need stability - it takes a long time for them to make good friends, it's not fair to move them around regularly 🙂

@lenatron33 @DanielSmidstrup I was going to disagree, but I think you're right. Just made me realize we need a new kind of coding course that distills the experience of hand coding into something for vibe coders not to make a huge mess... *added into my ideas backlog*

@DanielSmidstrup Absolutely, but not to the extent it used to. Understanding why something is happening, and what you can do differently, can save you a lot of tokens.

build update 14/90 > completed the #hotappsummer challenge by Netlify > finished writing the first newsletter post for NewbieMarketer, need to review and get ready to send it out next week > continued working on LaunchReel. I wanted to make the video quality better and not look just like a basic remotion video, so a lot of iteration there > dropped the free idea of the week for @getideapanda, and decided to drop an idea every single saturday learnings of the week: > X engagement and growth Friday-Sunday is quite slow > Tuesday-Thursday is the most engagement and should focus on launches and stuff on those days (these are from my observations > taking a break from building and X helps a lot, my husband and I got dinner with a good friend and it just helps clear your mind and reset <3

Hey @X Algorithm 👋 It's Saturday and I've got my coffee, my notes app open, and a list of people I want to meet. Looking to #connect with: → Builders → Founders → Writers → Creators → Digital Nomads → Anyone doing their own thing I'm specifically after distribution — let's trade audiences and actually grow together. Drop a 👋 and tell me what you're building. I reply to everyone.

@buildwithmaya > if anyone can build any product false premise: I'm building an AI-powered local newsletter, and I've gone through hundreds of iterations because the models still don't understand problems from the perspective of humans, they lack genuine creativity (for now)

How the articles tell you to build AI-powered software: > features backlog -> evals -> ralph loop -> loop of loops -> fancy AI workflow designer -> 100 subagents -> perfectly working app How you actually build AI-powered software: > build lots of little experiments -> make a really long techdebt.md about potential evals you could build -> glue all the experiments together -> hope nobody notices, release
