Correct. Prison should be both a "punishment" and a tool to protect the public. If they are violent and can't be trusted with arms, then they shouldn't be out of prison, just because they served a "sentence". If they are non violent felons having served their time, their constitutional rights should be restored.

My duty is to protect and defend the rights of the people as enshrined in our Constitution because those rights are nonnegotiable. As Attorney General, my commitment is to the people, no matter the cost.

America has no obligation to import people who want to kill us. Immigration policy exists for one reason: to benefit the American people.

Few things make me cringe more than when a servicemember is referred to by their gender or race. Call me weird, idk. Soldier, Sailor, Airman, Marine, Guardian, whatever. "Black female officer" = no "Officer"= yes "Asian male Sergeant" = no "Sergeant" = yes Stop being dumb.

We have the very real case right here in michiganistan where a homeowner shot intruders. He has been arrested. While we totally get and agree with his actions, the current law sees it otherwise: 1. Entry was into a detached garage. 2. Perps were shot while fleeing one the homeowner confronted them. 3. His own security cameras show it. 4. LE and DA plus media have framed the homeowner as the bad guy. 5. I don't think they even charged the surviving perps with burglary. 6. Perps are juveniles and "victims" of minority bias.

@thereal_SnS She was still a threat, likely, just not according to the law. Which is a shame. I have dealt with a number of violent people in my life and I can tell you that they often commit more violence after their rest break.

Once the woman outside of the car walks away, the woman inside the car is no longer in eminent fear of serious bodily injury or death, and therefore is no longer legally justified to use force, and in this case, it could be considered deadly force since she used a car. I’m not saying I agree, I’m just stating what the likely assessment would be from law enforcement and a prosecutor.

God forbid someone breaks into my house — my only real priority is protecting my family. Secondary objective: not permanently destroying my hearing in the process. Guns are stupidly loud indoors. A suppressor drops it to around 120 dB — still loud, but it won’t leave everyone in the house with ringing ears for life. So I decided to buy one. Then I remembered I’m a law-abiding citizen in America. That means I get the pleasure of FBI background checks, a passport-style photo, all ten fingerprints, ATF registration, and a two-month wait for the government to decide if I’m worthy of owning a metal tube. A metal tube. One that’s completely harmless by itself. One that doesn’t even make a gun movie-silence quiet. The whole process is ridiculous. I already legally own the guns. Adding a suppressor shouldn’t turn me into a suspected criminal. Anyone else think this is completely backwards?

We make the mistake of expecting real change to happen in one/two presidential terms. Our system is designed intentionally to not change that fast, for good reason. Our biggest enemy is complacent Republicans who don't vote or, who don't vote out the demonstrably bad seed because of "loyalty" or something...

I have never been a Democrat. My views align more closely with Republicans, but after the last 24 hours my disgust is paralyzing. I have not supported a third party because I remember when it handed Bill Clinton the presidency. I signed the petition for the Convention of States but remain skeptical because there will be no agreement. What's left? I love our country. What can we do besides shout on X which doesn't seem very effective?
