We're cracking down on servos not reporting their fuel prices on Servo Saver - with more than $80,000 in fines issued.

Australia’s maligned gas tax is about to pay off: Don’t kill it now To change the PRRT now would be a mistake – the super tax payday is coming and is closer than most realise. It’s actually a sleeper tax that balloons in the outer years. Japan, Korea, Malaysia and Singapore have told the Prime Minister, we’ll keep sending you fuel. Be a reliable supplier, but then you have to be reliable on your end and not slap an arbitrary tax on our investments theaustralian.com.au/business/econo… via @australian

Almost one million Aussies could be jobless, inflation may almost double and two sectors face being decimated if the price of oil spikes to a certain figure. Full story: bit.ly/47YFFUG

@Mon4Kooyong Why? It will make no difference to the global climate at all. This is just another pointless middle class Saviour fantasy.

Transport Minister Catherine King says the government wants to "encourage as much electric vehicle uptake" as possible, and acknowledges the government should enable our EV surge to continue. Great! Accelerating transport electrification is something I have been pushing for, as Co-Chair of the Parliamentary Friends of Electric Vehicles, over the last three years abc.net.au/news/2026-04-1…

@Mon4Kooyong Piece of shit vehicles that cost fortune to service with time and have fuck all resale value. Never mind that you are most likely charging your batteries from fossil fuel. But they won’t tell you that.

@saulkavonic Not gonna happen. Government has been told by SE Asia countries that fuel for “no surprises” gas is a fair trade. Politicians will have to find a different cash cow this time

@M_I_K_E_68 @bluewolfpack1 @StivChit Different bloke, my apologies. But you did say that you can’t drill and produce immediately. And that’s incorrect. With ~12 wells drilled this year, you are potentially looking at 5-10k bbl production that can be trucked out immediately

The Australian govt is advising people to save fuel : Drive smoothly . Don’t brake or accelerate aggressively . Pump tires up . Don’t use air con . Only take what you need . Hahahahaha . In the 1970s we were fuel sufficient . Imported none . We have it - but net zero 😂

@M_I_K_E_68 @bluewolfpack1 @StivChit I already said that in my first post. But saying it’s not economical is incorrect. Oil majors have made shale exploration economical at $40-60 a barrel.

@bluewolfpack1 There are no rigs left in the country to drill. H&P rig in Taroom Trough had to be imported from USA. I agree, we need to drill, but it will take some time to bring that oil to the refinery. And contrary to renewables fanatics, it’s very profitable at $60 per bbl, let alone $100

Australia was the greatest place on earth 60's 70's 80's 90's. Inexpensive, uncrowded, self-sufficient, low price housing. Politicians have destroyed it. Now you are fed diversity is our strength . No one wants to live in the past. By Albanese, a former Communist party member. Anyone who lived in those times will tell you how great this country was.

@7NewsAustralia You’ve already been warned by SE Asian countries that they expect “no surprises”, otherwise fuel stops coming to Aus. So FAFO.

Australia’s gas industry says a 25% export tax will cause it to stop investing. Senator David Pocock tells 7NEWS podcast The Issue that argument is BS. It’s now up to the Treasurer to make the final call in the May’s Federal Budget. Catch The Issue on LiSTNR and other podcast apps, or watch on YouTube. #australia #gas #politics #tax #theissue

What a stupid backwards move by a stupid backwards man in a stupid backwards party. You have the opportunity to chart a better path to help reduce the worst impacts of a warming planet but instead you literally chose to add more fuel to the fire. #qldpol #auspol

Fuel security means drilling, refining and storing fuel - and we’re determined to lead the country and make it happen. Taroom Trough will be the first oil field developed in Australia for half a century.
