Republicans have blocked our bills to fund TSA, FEMA, cybersecurity personnel, and the Coast Guard. I'm disappointed that some of my Republican colleagues spent Senator Mullin's confirmation hearing playing political games about lapses in critical funding - when they could just pass the bills today.

As families in Southwest Michigan recover from the recent storms, @SenatorSlotkin and I are pushing for answers from the National Weather Service about why there was no tornado watch alert issued before the first tornado touched down. My heart goes out to the loved ones of those who lost their lives, and I will continue working to support the communities who are rebuilding and recovering.

I voted NO because the SAVE Act would make it harder for law-abiding American citizens to vote, especially married women, seniors, and Americans in rural areas. We need to make sure our elections are safe and secure. That doesn’t mean we should prevent Americans from exercising their Constitutional right to vote.

As Vice President Vance visits Metro Detroit today, here are the facts of Trump's economy: Trump's tariffs are costing families $2,500/year. Regular gas is 33% more expensive in MI since the start of the Iran War. Health premiums have doubled across Michigan due to cuts in ACA. It is an economic disaster, and the American people deserve better.

An ex-DOGE staffer may have illegally accessed Americans' most sensitive data for use at their new private industry job. Ranking Member @SenGaryPeters is urging the Social Security Administration to immediately investigate this claim and fully revoke DOGE's data access.

The reality of President Trump’s war with Iran is higher gas prices here at home. The American people did not ask for this war, and they need to hear clear answers from the President on how these operations will bring lasting peace and security.

Democrats are ready to pay TSA agents and other critical DHS employees today. If services continue to go interrupted or our homeland security is impacted, that’s on Republicans.
