The Trump Administration is trampling all over Americans’ rights and Congress’ authority. Our Constitution empowers Congress to be a check on a lawless Administration, and I’m discouraged by how little my Republican colleagues are pushing back on these abuses.

My parents’ story embodies the American dream. Their hard work, resilience, and courage to stand up for what is right represents the very best of our country. I know they would be proud to celebrate this 250th anniversary.

I’m saddened to hear of the passing of my colleague Senator Lindsey Graham. We may not have always agreed, but I respected his dedication to our country. My deepest condolences are with his family.

Michiganders like Tony Spaniola are on the front lines of addressing PFAS contamination in our communities. For years, I have been proud to fight alongside folks like Tony to hold the Department of Defense accountable and ensure Michiganders’ drinking water is safe.   We must keep pushing to see PFAS cleanup progress in communities like Oscoda, and ensure the American people have the tools to protect their communities in the future.
