Sherman Hemsley, of The Jeffersons, in his yard in 1975. Sherman took acting classes at night after working everyday at his full-time job at a local post office in Philadelphia. He was 35 years old when he finally got his breakout role as George Jefferson. He was born on this day in 1938. RIP. #BlackHistoryMonth
