A concerning number of people on the far-left / anti-imperialist left treat geopolitics like their favorite sport cheering for “their side” as if this were a football match. Human lives become secondary to their ideological fantasies. How privileged one must be to sit so far removed from war/conflict that they openly rationalize mass casualties as politically “necessary.”

The choice conditions created by military intervention systematically favour whichever faction has the most organisational coherence immediately after the crash, which is usually either the most ruthless militia or the external patron with the deepest existing relationships.
