@calucas16 @hayo_luke You can have corridors where there is joy and release. You can’t silence children in lessons and expect them to crush themselves as they leave.

@hayo_luke This implies that those who engage in such behaviour are the majority. Why can we not identify hooligans and deal with them and let others be safe and relaxed without being treated like inmates?

I completely understand why schools have either organised or silent corridor routines.
Corridors can be chasms for bullying, shoving, lateness and truancy.
They can often be very unpleasant for shy, quiet children making their way to lesson.
High expectations on transitions!

@calucas16 @MissBird90 @TeacherTapp 100% this. 100% coursework for GCSE Language in 1990s was also excellent. Just different way of teaching but most importantly such a great way of learning for all pupils - I taught a resit class in a Sixth Form College where students turned up with average grades of G-D

@MissBird90 @TeacherTapp In the early 90s we had 40% cwk but it was all just class assignments. We did 12 over 2 yrs. Submitted best 10. No bother. They all did just as well on the 60% exam. Easy and brilliant. RS. Great course too.

Cannot stress this NO enough. Do not take us back to the days of ISAs. Coursework means a huge increase of workload for teachers, and more importantly it widens the disadvantage gap. No. @TeacherTapp
