So basically this only allows you installing apps without including the provisioning profile which only works of the device already had the proper provisioning profile installed (one that matches the signing identity, one that matches the bundle ID and entitlements) How it works with Free Account : 1. Use Xcode to create an app with the bundle ID you want and extract the entitlements from it then codesign your own app with that exact set of entitlements 2. Provision the device so install the provisioning profile Xcode made onto the device 3. Can now install apps signed with that identity and entitlements as device is already provisioned Nothing new basically still requires provisioning profiles just doesn’t need to be in .app if the device already has it provisioned it doesn’t need it
