I'm shocked at how many people think humans have never visited the Moon or that spacecraft never have landed on the Moon. I watched live on television the Apollo 11 astronauts place a lunar laser ranging reflector on the Moon's surface (image 1). Image 2 shows the lunar laser ranging instrument placed on the Moon by Apollo 15 astronauts. Image 3 shows the location of the 3 Apollo lunar laser ranging reflectors. Physicists have reflected laser beams from Earth off these reflectors daily since 1969. Thanks to these reflection experiments, the biblical claim that the laws of physics are immutable has been demonstrated to a remarkable degree. They show that the gravitational force constant varies by no more than 1.5 x 10^-14/year and the electron-to-proton mass ratio by no more than 4.5 x 10^-14/year.

@elonmusk so the upside is that one in 50,000 people go from sitting to having to stand.... what's the hellscape downside???

99% of people really do not understand abundance as Elon describes it. The fundamental reason is that they don’t understand compound growth. Same people who would probably pick 1 million dollars today over a penny that doubles in value every day for 30 days. It’s a bad choice by the way. You lose out on millions. Imagine if that doubling object was a labor producing robot instead of a penny. Compounding labor. It’s actually crazy if you try and wrap your mind around it. So Elon mentions Universl High Income and the midwits flip a lid. “The elites won’t share” You don’t get it. They won’t need to share. They will make everything so cheap, it is effectively free. Charities will have immense resources to distribute. Unfathomable intelligence will exist to help optimize production and distribution. An unfathomably large labor pool will exist that operates on solar power exclusively. The public work projects that are erected will be unseen before levels of breathtaking. I think we are incredibly blessed to steward this new age of abundance. Can you see it now? Can you see the future?

Astronaut Tim Peake demonstrates aboard the International Space Station, a stationary object in microgravity will tumble aimlessly with even the slightest tap. But once a gyroscope begins to spin, it instantly locks into a rigid geometric plane, stubbornly refusing to be tilted. This phenomenon is driven by angular momentum. The rapid rotation creates a powerful resistance to outside forces, granting the object an invisible, unyielding stability. This is far more than a simple physics trick. This exact principle of spin stabilization is what keeps the massive space station perfectly oriented as it orbits the Earth; a profound reminder that in the chaotic vacuum of space, sometimes the only way to stay perfectly still is to keep moving.

The Apache Point Observatory (Sunspot, New Mexico) achieves lunar laser ranging by using a 3.5-meter telescope paired with a high-power Q-switched laser that fires 100-picosecond pulses containing approximately 10^17 photons (a hundred quadrillion) at a rate of 20 times per second. Because the laser beam naturally diverges due to atmospheric turbulence - spreading to about 1.1 miles by the time it reaches the Moon - the system relies on the massive collecting area of the telescope to capture the faint return signal, where only one in 30 million of the sent photons successfully strikes the retroreflector and returns to Earth. To overcome this extreme signal loss and achieve millimeter-level precision, the observatory utilizes: • Ultra-short pulse timing: The 100-picosecond duration allows for distance measurements precise to within a few millimeters. • Advanced detection: A novel array of avalanche photodiodes (APDs) can detect multiple photons per pulse, distinguishing the signal from background noise even during full moon or daylight. • Precision pointing: The system intentionally aims 1.25 seconds ahead of the Moon's current position to account for the time it takes light to travel to the Moon and back.

@RTB_HRoss So NASA says that the reflectors are there and only NASA can confirm its authenticity. Got it. Yeah that’s how these things work. Proves nothing. I put a reflector on Mars in 1997 and only I can read the results proving it. Therefore- I’ve been to Mars

The reflectors could easily have been left by rovers later on. Kubrick, visible stunt ropes, tv broadcasting methods, fluttering flags, falling sand, cold war motivations, etc can all be seen as evidence the 1969 landing was a hoax... Doubt will always surround the landings because it's impossible to verify... Perhaps we are so fascinated bc the truth directly affects how we feel about the govt - do we just want to know how to feel about our overlords? Zero chance we see another moon landing soon imo...
