@TarkLev @Tresob @ScriptTrooper I’d like to point out that Ahsoka wasn’t a Youngling for very long; she quickly became Plo-koon’s Padawan before becoming Anakin’s Padawan—well before the average age for becoming a Padawan (which is around 14).

The fights between Maul and the Jedi versus the Inquisitors in Maul Shadow Lord make make Ahsoka look like a more powerful Jedi than any of them by an extremely wide margin while simultaneously making Maul look weak and Qui Gon look like a total bum.

maul shadow lord spoilers daki and devon are obv in sync whenever they fight together, so it was cool to see how incompatible daki was w maul when they tried to take vader on together. maul's too aggressive and they're both used to leading in the duels they participate in

Filoni even had to take standard Legends Jedi training and make it an "Anakin thing"

Daily reminder than Maul alone held his own against Vader while having a broken leg + suffering from prior injuries + exhausted and still survived several minutes of duel. Had he been fine like in Episode 4 where he defeated Daki easily, it would have been epic to see.

@vos661 @retneysholocron Worst thing is that from a story-telling standpoint, the stories of George about Ahsoka were always better for her character and challenging, Filoni only throws flowers to her + makes her boring. Both Maul fight and Ahsoka beating her first Inquisitor was better in George script.

@TarkLev @retneysholocron Yeah, the difference between Ahsoka vs Maul in the Ahsoka novel, based on the original script, and the TCW S7 rewritten by Filoni is jarring. Ahsoka runs from Maul in the novel, and traps him in ray shields with the help of clones. She doesn't 1v1 him

It’s interesting that a lot of the established lore around Maul, especially in the EU, stated that he was incredibly powerful and one of the greatest fighters in the history of the Sith. But in his actual story he constantly fails and gets beaten.
