@DemocraticWins So is the left unnecessary or the reason the Democrats lose close elections when they don't vote for Republican-lite candidates? Need to know for 7 months or so from now

Graham Platner is a 100% disabled veteran receiving VA benefits of $4,800 month that he himself says supplement his income because his oyster business “does not make much money.” He took over Waukeag Neck Oyster Co. in 2020, runs it with his wife and a partner, and has acknowledged selling oysters to Ironbound, a restaurant owned by Leslie Harlow his mother, and addition to limited local spots and private events. He’s not some struggling independent oysterman scraping by solely on the water. He comes from a privileged background: prep school, successful restaurateur mother, attorney father, prominent architect grandfather, and is now a Democratic Senate candidate backed by the party machine and national donors. His attacks on “billionaires sucking money out of rural Maine” ring hollow when his own livelihood relies heavily on government disability payments rather than a thriving private business.
Graham Platner for Senate@grahamformaine

America has ten times the billionaires today than we had in 1990. In rural Maine we have fewer schools, fewer hospitals, fewer young people who can ever hope to buy a home. Money has been sucked upward, out of our towns and into the pockets of the billionaire class.

@LolaMMaine I’ve known oyster farmers, it’s definitely manual labor. How does someone thats 100% disabled do that kind of work?

The age and style differences between 71-year-old Representative Stephen Lynch and his 39-year-old Democratic challenger, Patrick Roath, underscore a key dynamic animating the Democratic Party, even in safe-blue corners such as Massachusetts. trib.al/lWZrDzn

@PatrickRoath God forbid the youth want to run for Congress. I hope you decimate Lynch in the debates and take his seat. I'll moderate one of them.

@ThisIsMyPhone5 @TokyoTom2020 @DerrickEvans4WV @stellaglutes If you’re a Catholic who understands how it works (not a naive outsider who only THINKS he does) infallibility applies when a Pope is speaking ex cathedra on matters of doctrine. That means — to settle theological questions. His “opinions” in general aren’t automatically true.

Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò has joined President Trump in slamming Pope Leo XIV. In a powerful new statement, Viganò told the Pope to “get his act together,” stop acting like a politician pandering to the radical left, and start acting like a real spiritual leader instead of constantly attacking Trump’s foreign policy. Viganò pointed out that many faithful Catholics are scandalized by Pope Leo’s weak, woke criticism of Trump’s decisive actions against the Iranian regime and his overall softness on global issues. This comes after Trump called out the Pope for being “weak on crime” and “terrible for foreign policy.” The message is clear: The Vatican needs strong leadership, not more political virtue-signaling.

The teacher making $125k per year, with 3 months of PTO, and 35 hour work weeks Is better off than... The attorney making $250k per year, with 1-2 weeks of PTO, and 60+ hour work weeks It's not even close

@DavidJHarrisJr Oh, you've never been to mass. Priests do this thing called a homily where they do a short lesson on the scripture being read, in this case a line from Matthew.

@BasedNP @punishedpants The nurses all work 3 12's or 4 10's depending on the schedule structure and the doctors probably work 4 12s based on a 4 week month (16 shifts a month)

@punishedpants The real problem is availability. People expect the ER open 24/7 and tech support to answer the phone. You might have done nothing all day Thursday but twiddle your thumbs but Friday something happens and you have a crisis

Doctor: "Dietary fat isn't the issue." Patient: "The margarine?" Doctor: "We now know trans fats were problematic, yes." Patient: "You recommended them." Doctor: "The profession recommended them." Patient: "Based on the same lipid hypothesis you're using to prescribe me a statin." Doctor: "The science has moved on." Patient: "Which bit?" Doctor: "...LDL remains a key marker." Patient: "Right."

@hiscoraline So in direct response to your question, an hour a night of "hand hand fingers thumb" or "the story of Moses" kills any time I have to read "the iliad" (honestly I read several books and MANY research papers last year, but I'm helping everyone else with this response)

@hiscoraline First of all, my kids books are 25 pages max, second of all they want me to keep reading the exact same one over and over. I read the same book 7 times yesterday, cover to cover
