Jeff Bezos: "If we ran Amazon the way New York City runs their school system, packages would take 6 weeks to arrive, we would charge you a $100 delivery fee and when the package did finally arrive, it would have the wrong item in it."

@Cazad0r This is the perfect Twitter discourse because it is simultaneous true that this is a peasant lunch and that the average American calorically doesn’t need lunch at all

@IAmThatIAmWill @battlehateharm @voidsrus4 It’s crazy how much of this is just caused by that repeated cycle of taking loans on big equipment, need to farm more acres to pay loans and repeat. The death of the American shelterbelt

@Anluanx You can maybe can do this 100 percent but you can still get damn close. Just work construction over the summer. Making 21-25 bucks working 60 hour weeks. Stacks quick

They did NOT live cheap. They had restaurants, with tablecloth and cloth napkins. Do NOT buy the revisionism that tells you the Boomers had a better life because they spent less money: THEY SIMPLY HAD MORE MONEY
Jim Sharp@prowrstlngstrng

I am not defending boomers, but they did generally live pretty cheap in their 20s Going out for coffee was insane. You threw Yuban into tiur Mr Coffe and put it in a thermos Eating out meant a trip to Pizza Hut maybe once a month Vacation was driving to a campsite

@jpizzle0329 That’s valid. We would totally have soup kitchen style restaurants but government regulations prevent this. 10 dollar plate style places.

@BasedNP The market isn't free rn with constant government intervention They should be replaced by better services It'll probably take longer than 10 years, all I'm looking for is an agreement that "shit sucks rn, everything's expensive" The nerds on the extremes are to be laughed at

MF hate that free markets fix themselves. Fast cheap=people eat, fast food expensive = no eat, they now must change there economic model or be replaced by a service that better fits public need 2 problems No power was gain in this transaction by gov It takes 10 yrs
TunnelVision@jpizzle0329

Genuinely baffled by the discourse on fast food meals today. "Hey, this food that up until 2 years ago was reasonably priced is now very expensive" "JusT paCK a LUNCh yOU entiTLEd brAT" No one is engaging in the same conversation here

@davidkersten Capital is endless and created not found or stolen. My wife started a business a few years ago after getting fired for like 400 bucks and her time. She makes like 70k a year work 20 hrs per week now…watch’s the kiddos other day. While I work…opportunities are endless

@OrevaZSN I mean tbh YouTube replaced that pretty much entire need for education. Woodshop you still need just because the equipment is expensive

“Kids these days don’t know any practical skills.” Someone from the generation that decided to remove woodshop, auto shop, home economics, and personal finance from public school curriculums in exchange for more practical tests.

When I was in J school, the ad kids held a press conference at the end of the year as a joint final. If the journalists ate the food, you failed.
