@MBUR337 I’ve had contact from a few solicitor firms who have looked through it all. But I don’t know if I want to string it al out. I’m enjoying life out of it all and just don’t want to fight for a job I don’t want to do. It would be purely to clear my name.

@TorbayTim what’s the latest fella, you taking the panel members and the ticket supervisor through a civil case once the very carefully worded report of your dismissal can be fully scrutinised?

After the Kangaroo Court circus, that was my hearing, there was no thank you for 20 yrs of unblemished service. So really nice to get a message like this.

@D2SDKATO I applied for a new role a few months back. I was the only one eligible who wanted it. Post holder changed all the selection criteria so he could the job to his old mate. This sort of thing is rife throughout D&C. Proper jobs for the boys. Always been about who you know.

Surely it’s misleading to continue to talk about an appeal period. I have been clearly told there are no grounds of appeal.

@_AlanCurran So the reasons why I chose to make haste were accepted. That wasn’t in debate, despite those reasons not being an exemption in law. The issue was how I knew about those reasons. I.e how did I know of the situation in Plymouth.

The report that was linked above (in your now deleted tweet) suggested there were comments about the urgency of parading at the different custody suite, and the advice given from the chief inspector was misrepresented. It's clear from that report you attempted to provide 'reasons' for speeding which weren't true, so in my eyes that's an integrity issue. If you'd held your hands up and admitted it, taken it on the chin, and moved on, this whole situation would never have happened.

@RodRose314 I’m self employed now Rod. I stand by everything I’ve said and if I decide to appeal, I do hope the outcome will be different. Not because I was to be re-instated, but to clear my name.

@TorbayTim … be mindful that your future employer maybe reading your social media entries… now or in the future. I wouldn’t employ you at the moment. Be humble and accept some responsibility and I might change my mind. I wish you well for the future.

@TorbayTim Regarding public attendance do people have to register to attend police disciplinary panels or can they walk in off of the streets?

Today, after over 20 yrs as a dedicated, decorated and highly skilled officer, I was dismissed for providing a ‘misleading account’ in relation to a speed camera activation application for exemption when rushing to help colleagues whilst on duty. I left with my head held high.

@MattLakeland I believed I had a lawful exemption. I still do. I wrote a short report explaining why, which has been found to be ‘misleading’ following a high stress, high pressure, grilling from a patronising and offensive lawyer. There is absolutely nothing untrue in that report

@TorbayTim I’ve read the report and what you said. You tried your luck Tim and it didn’t go the way you hoped. 20yrs down the pan for the sake of speeding fine/points

@TorbayTim Honesty & Integrity. If you try to embellish circumstances to avoid a legitimate speeding fine, that’s not honest, and you bring your integrity into question. That’s a fair assessment.

@Ex_arv_sgt And all because of documentation that was slightly worded incorrectly. And some newby PC straight out of collage wanting to earn their stripes was probably the reason my mate got the sack.. Really is it in the publics interest? Bollocks. #exbadcoptim @TorbayTim

@TorbayTim This is abysmal behaviour from them. My mate was a copper and it seems like they try and use anything against you - he had something similar happen to him. Time to hang up the boots. Thank you for your service, my friend 🫡

The outpouring of support, particularly from my D&C colleagues has been incredible and humbling. Unfortunately this has been the catalyst for some who can draw an immediate pension to throw the towel in now. Retention of experience seems to be in major crisis up and down the UK.
