@Carnage4Life Not sure I understand this take. EV sales in every region in the world are up. VW might have a sales growth issue in particular but that doesn't mean EVs are struggling to cross the chasm

Gas price skyrocketed in 2021-2022 and then crashed in 2023-2024. Trump promises to cut today's price "in half at least." LOL! Market is oversupplied, despite one of the hottest summers ever. A glut depresses prices & forces drilling cutbacks. wsj.com/finance/commod… via @WSJ

@TrudgeDMC @austinenergy This particular program doesn't seem to change in winter. Not even sure why they are only doing 3-6pm, since the problems in ERCOT in summer routinely occur at 8pm when utility scale solar is dropping out, wind is still ramping up, and load is still high.

Apropos of nothing, my July @austinenergy electricity bill, which is typically my 2nd largest bill (Aug being 1st), was 1637kWh, all-in $236.8, so $0.145/kWh (I subtracted out my solar credit). That's about average for TX. And, discovered they have a pilot TOU plan I may try.

@TrudgeDMC @austinenergy Thanks! My big ticket items are EV charging and HVAC. Both are programmable to avoid the peak hours (which for this plan are M-F, 3-6pm). So - if I can get the family to buy in to this, we probably can save some money.

@CoreyBCantor I'm pretty surprised about Toyota's BEV production growth. They obviously hedge with hybrids but that BEV production is ramping. Tesla is an obvious disappointment. I am low key sad that Ford says good things that doesn't move very much.
