... And the psycho part all too often does more harm than good. Let's face it, we are not yet meeting the needs of most people with eating disorders. And perhaps little better for other disorders. Too few staff to train themselves or their colleagues effectively

I often go on about how eating disorders treatment neglects the BIO in biopsychosocial. But - certainly for adults - treatment often has nothing to offer in the SOCIAL domain either ( -even within supposedly multidiscipliniary teams). Patients are starved of well-rounded care.

@DrVoles Ooh shall I give u a good 1? Called in by GP to discuss deranged blds postop, tried to get rpt, looks @time, goes oh no it's pm, rushes out 2 see courier leave - cant send urgent cos of budget cuts,cant book appt cos system won't allow, told 2 call 8am daily&no slots - 2/12 now

GIRF. Get It Right First Time. Doesn't apply to patient contacts it seems. Patient seen by a non prescriber in a building full of Doctors/Prescribers. (A Hospital). Diagnosed with Otitis Media. (Ear infection). Told to call GP tomorrow for antibiotics. The mind boggles.
