Fact: George Floyd said "I can't breathe" eight times before he was on the ground; eight times before anybody touched his neck; eight times before the Facebook video on which the MSM based its faulty verdict.
Passage Publishing@PassagePress

Today we are proud to announce the release of American Scapegoat: How a Corrupt Justice System Sacrificed Derek Chauvin to the Mob by former federal prosecutor T.J. Harker (@TJ_Harker). Six years ago today, George Floyd died while in custody of Minneapolis beat cop Derek Chauvin, sparking the most destructive riots in our nation's history and becoming the pretext for an era of mass political hysteria that threatened to rip apart the very fabric of American life. Cities burned. Floyd's body was paraded around in a gold casket. Every institution was made to bend the knee to BLM. Ordinary white Americans, represented by the person of Derek Chauvin, were called to account for three centuries of racial grievance. All most Americans saw of that day was the grainy cellphone footage of Officer Chauvin's knee restraining the back of George Floyd's neck. Few bothered to learn any other details about the case, and by the time the trial rolled around, the verdict was a foregone conclusion. An innocent black man had been killed by a racist white cop, they were told. And for America to atone for its original sins, that racist white cop had to pay the price. What they didn't know was that Chauvin's knee did not prevent Floyd from breathing. They didn't know Chauvin was following procedure by the book. They didn't know Floyd had taken lethal amounts of fentanyl minutes before being restrained. They didn't know Floyd had a pre-existing heart condition. They didn't know the autopsy report had been revised under threat of professional harm. They didn't know the original prosecutor removed herself from the case after seeing all of the evidence. They didn't know the subsequent prosecutors had to abandon their theory of the case just days into the trial. They didn't know the prosecution never established a cause of death, let alone that Derek Chauvin was responsible. In American Scapegoat, author T.J. Harker breaks down what happened on that fateful day six years ago, analyzes the thousands of court documents manipulated and recontextualized to achieve the trial result Minnesota politicians demanded, and relives the trial itself in thorough, painstaking detail to definitively show that Derek Chauvin did not kill George Floyd. Never in modern American history has our justice system been so corrupted by public mass hysteria than in the case of Derek Chauvin. This is the story of that trial. This is the story of how a man was sacrificed to the mob. American Scapegoat is available for pre-order now. Coming Fall '26.

Examining Kate’s 1% She has suspected endometriosis. This affects at least 1 in 10 women, likely more. Here she’s getting an ultrasound. Historically you needed surgery just to diagnose it (incisions are made in the abdomen). We're doing a non-invasive route. Typically women live with endometriosis for 7-10 years before being diagnosed. It’s the leading reason women aged 30 to 34 get hysterectomies (permanent surgery to entirely remove the uterus). This condition is where endometrial-like tissue starts growing outside the uterus, in ovaries, bowel, bladder, even the diaphragm. This tissue inflames, scars, and glues organs together. Our first step is to find out if @_katetolo has it. Initial measurements we’re doing: + trans vaginal ultrasound + pelvic MRI w and w/o contrast + hormonal labs All during the early part of her cycle to get the clearest picture. During her ultrasound, a slim probe, about the width of two fingers, 10-12 inches long (although only a small portion is inserted) is covered with a protective sheath and lubricant and gently inserted into the vagina (patient has to empty their bladder first). This creates real-time images of the uterus, ovaries, and surrounding pelvic structures. While inserted, the probe is turned 90 degrees to evaluate all the various structures, angles and views. There is no radiation exposure. The technician is looking for scarring, ovarian cysts, adhesions, and for organs that are fused together with tissue. This ultrasound can confirm endometriosis but it cannot rule it out. What endo does to the body: + 90% report pelvic pain + 50% report severe fatigue + 26% report infertility. However many sources cite 30 to 50 percent. + 50% experience pain during sex. + Many have pain with ovulation, bowel movements, and urination + Severe bloating called “endo belly” where the abdomen visibly distends There are a handful of theories about why endometriosis develops but the honest answer is no one is quite sure. We’ll keep you posted on her results.

@abundancechud @xwanyex @avidseries Are all cultures the same or does cultural diversity exist? Suppose in some cultures, there was enormous value and expectation in doing whatever it took to please your boss. All other things being equal, would it be good to import people of that culture?

@xwanyex @avidseries This zero-sum thinking is totally retarded. America has had a growing population since its inception and happens to also have the highest paying jobs & most opportunity in the world. It would literally be a more sound argument to just say you don't want brown people.

No, the ancient Greeks really did categorise and perceive colours differently from us. It was not merely a matter of “describing them differently”. Homer uses χλωρός (chloros), the word that later gives us “green”, for fresh honey, young wood, pale faces sick with fear, and even blood in certain contexts. The same word covers a range of fresh, bright, or living qualities that do not map neatly onto our modern colour boundaries. They had no dedicated word for blue. Homer famously calls the sea οἶνοψ (oinops) aka wine-dark or wine-faced. This description puzzled translators and later readers precisely because it does not match to our fixed colour spectrum. Our language and our culture shapes what our mind notices, understands, and names.
Ryan Rhodes ⚙️🧠@langofmind

No, they did not perceive colors differently than we do today. They just described them differently. But lots of languages describe colors differently! That doesn't mean they're perceiving them differently, we all have the same kind of eyes

@peoplesposting @Th_Angelopoulos Do you think the average reader is more likely to have watched those movies or to have consumed lots of pre-1960s works using the word “savage” in a way that you’ve decided is colonialist?

Wilson's actual stated reason, which is visible in the screenshot he posted, is that “savage” carries colonial connotations in modern English that the ancient Greek ἄγριος simply does not have. ἄγριος means wild, feral, untamed, it applies to animals and storms in Homer. “Savage” in English has a specific post-colonial history. Wilson judged it, correctly imo, as anachronistic. You can disagree with that call. But has nothing to do with non-Whites. That's a made up internal dialogue that never took place. She translates the Cyclopes as “mavericks” which is hardly a whitewash. She used that word due to the their lack of social structure, agriculture, and assemblies, as they live as independent, lawless individuals. Cyclopes' unconventional, solitary way of life, is being contrasted with the civilized, law-abiding societies of humans. Wilson has given us a good translation; not the best but a very decent one. Don't reject it because a non Greek speaking moron told you so.
Roman Helmet Guy@romanhelmetguy

Emily Wilson read the story about a Cyclops eating Odysseus’s men and thought: “Wow, this monster is a non-White person. People might get the idea that non-White people are savage. I better not use the word ‘savage.’ That would reinforce colonialism.”

@UltimusA @bumbadum14 They cleverly avoid this by not technically charging either side; it’s just that only paid members can match with unpaid members. We all know men are notoriously bad at paying for things that they shouldn’t, just for a crumb, so the model works

@MeinGottNiles @Obi887962668520 @Variety It's actually worse, because LotR is written as true history, Sauron does actually recruit some Ethiopians to fight in his army. The parts of Middle Earth we see are explicitly western Europe, not just "fiction", and black people are a strange and exotic sight.

What? Achilles laments that he is dead and not alive. He wishes he could return to life for just one day to punish those who abuse his father. Right after that, Odysseus tells him about his son and how heroic he was, which makes Achilles feel triumphant. You're completely wrong.

Achilles in the underworld (in the Odyssey) laments his choice to chase glory rather than the quiet, peaceful family life. Like Homer literally spells it out several times that Achilles is not to be emulated and that the Iliad is a critique of bronze age master morality

No, they don’t. “What if you were X” is not meant to be taken literally because of course it’s absurd and falls apart in five seconds. It’s a metaphor for empathizing with common basics of human experience and realizing that no one chose their parents, genes, health, upbringing, economic position, talents, education, etc. So feeling entitled, instead of grateful for any good fortune you get, makes you an assh*** who probably craves a narrative based on providence or desert that gives them permission to be arrogant and s*** on other less fortunate people.
