This project aims to build a supportive community for women in Taiwan working with creative coding — through learning, sharing, and collective growth — while also opening pathways to international exchange I’d love to hear from you if you: - Have experience with code + art programs or communities - Know relevant organizations or resources and are open to making international connections - Want to get involved, support, or share any advice (Currently in the research phase — any info, experience, or advice is deeply appreciated 🙏) A small personal note: I’m quite introverted by nature, but I’m sharing this in hopes of reaching more people who might resonate with or support this project I’m applying for a government program with plans for an international visit in 2026 Regardless of the outcome, I’ll continue working on this — even if it means moving a bit more slowly

Lately I’ve been painting with code instead of a brush. I used to be obsessed with how pigments spread in water and colors melt into each other. Now I’m simulating those molecular dances through algorithms—and it’s even more addictive. Brush trails emerge from mouse velocity, ink seeps into “paper” when it slows down, textures and reflections recorded in every frame. Replaying the same path with a different seed—each run looks familiar, yet never the same. It’s not about replacing ink painting. It’s about keeping those fleeting mistakes and hesitations alive.

Here is our latest podcast - Looking Back at Generativemasks This generative art project—which some might categorize as PFP-ish—became a defining symbol of the NFT phenomenon in 2021. Shunsuke Takawo emerged as one of its iconic figures, driving much of its success. While his primary practice is daily coding, his contributions extended far beyond that: co-founding the Generative Art Foundation, participating in panels and interviews, conducting workshops, releasing new works, and taking part in exhibitions around the world. Together, we've accomplished numerous projects: Patterns of Flow, dialog() asia, Proof of X, the Takashimaya LED installation, and many other initiatives. Whenever NEORT found itself in the spotlight, Takawo was often there—either directly involved or supporting us from the sidelines. As Generativemasks approached the 4th anniversary, I've been reflecting on what we can do for this project and where it should go next. Many ideas came to mind, but the answer turned out to be quite simple: the artwork needs to be discussed, exhibited, and passed on to new audiences. We need to document what happened during that time—how people saw and felt about it, what makes this artwork significant, and who was involved. More importantly, we need to explore the new perspectives that Generativemasks brought to the space. @takawo worked tirelessly to contribute to the generative art ecosystem.
