@sainsburys having worked for the company in the past, I'm aware of the move towards self scans and the smart shop app/devices to reduce labour costs. Thus, there isn't much I can do to avoid said gates, as staffed tills are now uncommon outwith peak hours. 2/2

@sainsburys Recently encountered the new security gates to exit the self scan area at Braehead (2231). I detest them, as they make me feel l've viewed with suspicion for using a self scan and they go against the reason why choose a self scan - speed of exit. 1/2

@innocent Unless you're in Glasgow. Where union jack bunting will instigate issues due to football club affiliation. Rangers FC = Union Jack; Celtic = Irish Republic flag. You do not display union jacks in a celtic supporting neighbourhood.

Spare a thought for the person in charge of the supermarket seasonal aisle. They've gone through Easter, Eid, pre-summer, spring, a million bank holidays, genuine storms, and actual summer in the past two months. And now they've got to get rid of the lot for bunting.

@ddofinternet Since the late 1980s there have been 3 mass shootings: Hungerford 1987; Dunblane 1996 and Cumbria 2010. Only the third one didn't cause a tightening of gun ownership laws; it caused a review of screening policies & police response instead.

Can anyone in the UK explain how your gun laws work? You can own guns just like Americans can, but why do you have way less gun violence per capita?

@ddofinternet 1) We're limited to certain guns: shotguns with a 3 round limit; manual action rifles; pistols modified to be 60cm long (arm brace + longer barrel) - nothing else. 2) Fully enforced background check to buy one. 3) Not widely sold - specialist shops only.
