I got interesting responses and divided positions on the matter. But I agree that doing this can be a duplication of roles, a means for dynasties to solidify their power, and a more expansive venue for corruption. Others even propose the abolition of the chamber!

Should the Philippine Senate be elected by regional districts and not nationally? For example, since we have 18 regions, and if there are two Senators per region, the Senate will have 36 Senators—more than what we have now but could be more ‘representative’. What do you think?
