In addition...the wealthiest are often the ones with the greatest ability to relocate. And if they are really well off they can easily maintain housing in both NYC and elsewhere and just limit time in NYC. Best of both worlds.

Four years ago, the Bucktooth Botox Bandit of Buffalo (Kathy Hochul) told Republicans in NY to leave the state and said we weren't New Yorkers. After she barely won re-election, my wife and I took her up on her offer. It was the best decision we could have made. We now own a home and a successful business in Tennessee due in large part to a far lower tax burden than what exists in New York. Now Hochul is begging those of us who left to COME BACK to New York so she can tax our income to pay for her and Mamdani's pet projects. Be careful what you wish for, Kathy. None of us are coming back.

The BK in my area (walk in to try a new Whopper) was staffed by agitated, toothless transients straight out of lockup. There was a guest at the counter doing the fent lean thing, while White Mike was doing a drug deal by the side entrance. The kitchen staff stared daggers at me, and I said 'fuck this,' and walked out. Ended up at Dairy Queen.
