Draadje: 1/8

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. Trump admits his warped view of NATO comes from Putin's repeated "explanations." He's admitting that a hostile enemy state has successfully pumped the US president full of anti-US lies & disinformation. Are we even able to recognize a traitor??
Aaron Rupar@atrupar

Trump: "NATO is a paper tiger. Putin is not afraid of NATO. Putin's afraid of us. Very afraid of us. And he's explained it to me a lot of times."

Tekst: @mariekesjerps hpdetijd.nl/cultuur-media/…

These are the Twitter/X accounts with the most engagement so far in 2026. I suppose I had some intuition for how bad it was, but jeez, this is what you get when the ecosystem is broken.

Have you tried yoga for long‑COVID?”Yes. Science did (again? Why FFS!!). It did NOTHING. Yoga does not cure #longCOVID. But it does cure people telling me to try yoga. Namaste anyways. PS: they'll probably keep trying as this was feasibility study... sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

@NielsHonkoop Oh I wish this were true, but apparently you've never seen Dutchies go wild about this in online comments. Impressively annoying.

Europeans might ask themselves this question. If Trump does not care about Putin helping the Iranians to kill Americans, do you think he will care at all about Putin trying to kill Europeans?

When this is over, the western part of NATO will never be the same. Spain, England, France and Italy have sold us out, as they too often have a history of doing. Eastern European nations are the heart of NATO. They spend money on defense, know how to fight and love the US. France particularly deserves fault and blame. From supporting China and Russia at the UN to denying Americans overflight rights, they’re doing what they’ve always done - showing weakness, while cutting deals with terrorists. (The reason the US has a Marine Corps and Navy is unlike France, we refused to pay a ransom to the Barbary Pirates. France is always happy to cut a deal.) Wars have unintended consequences as nations show their true colors. NATO will never be the same, and Western European weakness and acquiescence is the cause.

@KHostages @AriFleischer It speaks volumes of your intellect that you think Poland, the Baltics, the Nordics - countries directly threatened by your unwillingness to stand up to Putin - would have ány interest in doing business with the US for decades to come.

We should do two things, three actually: withdraw from NATO after creating a new military alliance with Eastern European nations (Baltic states, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, maybe Moldova, plus Finland, Sweden, and maybe Norway). Lastly, remove all aid and military cooperation with France, Spain, and England.

@zarathustra_sui @timecaptales And I do agree there are limits to that - the stuff my niece wants to read just one more chapter of - well the reading is a win, but oy ;) But to put Potter on that list is just nonsense.

I had no interest in reading as a kid until I read Harry Potter. It helped me develop a love for reading, now as an adult I read prolifically. We all have to start somewhere and it doesn’t have to be in the depths of great literature; you can start in the shallow end and work your way into deep waters.

A federal judge just ruled that videos of DOGE staffers must stay up — and they are devastating. Under oath, they couldn't define DEI. They admitted they never reduced the deficit. And they wiped out $100 million in humanities grants — including a Holocaust documentary — using ChatGPT. The regime tried to bury this. It didn't work. dworkinsubstack.com/p/shut-it-down…

When mail-in voting is limited or eliminated, then selected polling stations are closed or surrounded with "security checks", when poll workers are replaced by ICE "for security", when ballots are confiscated for "fraud", maybe you’ll take it seriously. Too late.

@CuriosityonX It’s a great pipe dream and it’s helps but India produces 10B kgs of waste and much of it ends up in the ocean. No worries tho Canada is increasing its carbon tax so that will fix it all.

This is incredible. This machine is capable of cleaning up 100 million kg of plastic ocean waste, and as of 2025, it has already collected about 500,000 kg of plastic. It aims to remove 90% of ocean plastic by 2040.
