I built my dream Markdown editor for Mac. → Introducing Cogito (pronounced koh-gee-toh). It started out of frustration: Obsidian is powerful but overwhelming. iA Writer is beautiful but feels built for a different era. Nothing felt right for how I actually write and work now: plain files, lots of folders, agents and scripts editing alongside me. I wanted both: native and beautiful, powerful and calm. So I finally built it. It's fast, keyboard-first, polished, truly native. A Mac app built with power users and developers in mind. This is my love letter to writing and Mac apps. I use it for all my writing now. Free while in beta ✌️

OMG I can't believe I reverse engineered Apple Notes with Claude Code. I can import everything from Apple Notes like folders, notes, images and everything. Also this is realtime, not sped up. Now everyone can migrate from Apple Notes to Grape.

W ostatnich dniach popyt na akcje $ASML nie ma końca, a rynkowa narracja wokół spółki w ekspresowym tempie obróciła się o 180°. Najpierw zakupy insiderskie, potem poprawa nastrojów na Wall Street, a dziś jeszcze inwestycja Nvidii w Intela – wszystko to sprawiło, że kurs ASML jest już o 24% wyżej niż jeszcze na początku tego miesiąca. ASML to spółka, o której mówi się wiele, jest szeroko pokrywana analitycznie i ma bardzo dużą kapitalizację… a jednocześnie rynek wciąż często źle rozumie jej cykl, wyceny, mid cycle earnings i prawdziwe źródła przewagi i driverów wzrostu. Dzięki temu ich kurs akcji jest znacznie bardziej zmienny, niż biznes. @vodriian I still use a MacBook Pro with an M1 Max processor and 32 GB of RAM. Figma runs super smoothly even with a large project and design system.

I feel like 16GB of RAM is not enough anymore for my M2Pro MacBook Pro. Figma (and other web-based apps) is hungry af on huge projects. I'm seriously thinking about the extra M4 Mac Mini with 32GB of RAM. Thoughts?

A long post below From May 22, when I began collaborating with Geviti, I worked like a machine. I created a new design system based on the existing UI and my own design audit. I applied new styles and components, cleaned up, and improved UX and UI across multiple flows Some numbers: - 146 screens cleaned, improved, or redesigned from the ground up - 610 variables, - 55 text styles, - 28 effect styles, - and over 50 new master and .base components with dozens of variants and properties, all created from scratch This was a big push, but it’s only the start. I still need to clean up the web app and review onboarding and other product components. The design system is also evolving, as I plan to add more documentation and sync with Storybook Why was this kind of work needed in the first place? When startups move fast, even top designers often don’t have time to build things properly. As a result, you get tons of screens without components, auto layout, or consistent styles. There are too many inconsistent patterns and UI elements across thousands of screens in dozens of files I believe even fast-paced startups can benefit from proper design processes to avoid a huge mess and save time in the long run. As a designer, all you can do is use components, variables, and styles. Even during the discovery phase, it's much faster and safer to build on top of a small UI kit and use auto layout whenever possible Some thoughts about building a design system with the current state of Figma: - Syncing libraries and files is a circus of bugs - Swap properties are unpredictable - .base components are a blessing and a curse at the same time - Variables and modes are truly amazing additions – I can’t imagine working in Figma without them anymore - Complex components with many properties and nested components quickly become unmanageable monsters - We need to simplify all this, because building and managing big design systems is an unbelievably brutal task right now Still, I’m so glad to keep building at Geviti. It’s a pleasure to work alongside brilliant people building a brilliant product To be continued…
