@lukey_stephens The tricky part with aligning images in a row is that the layout would need to adapt whenever the window or font size changes, and we wouldn't want to automatically rearrange things without your input as the result might not look the way you intended.

okay some more comments here after working with it. it's a little finicky, I have to resize images to get them to align properly. but even then they can miss align sometimes. I think I would rather prefer the ability to select images and right click 'align in row' and it just aligned the images for me. (fit the width and auto the height?)

@BearNotesApp oh wow! maybe it's just the cursor interactions here that don't make it obvious? i tried that before and gave up. my cursor keeps going into text select mode and often my images get highlighted.

@lukey_stephens You can resize images by hovering over them and dragging from the bottom right corner. And yes they will snap to the widths of other images in your document! Enjoy! 😉

@BearNotesApp i am taking some notes while doing mobile dev and device screenshots make my content really annoying to work with (raw size is huge)

@benjdod You're right, Sidebar and TOC aren't special. Honestly, no single feature in Lettera is. It's more about how the whole thing feels when you sit down to write. That's hard to put in a list, which is probably why we shouldn't lead with one. Best way to know is just to try it. 😉

@BearNotesApp I don’t mean to be rude, but you list out such features as a folder-structure sidebar that lets you instantly start editing files. A table of contents. I don’t think those are really that special? Am I missing something?

@Piers_zz We might be a little biased here, but our honest recommendation is to download the beta and give it a try. We absolutely love it and hope you will too! 🥰

@BearNotesApp Any reason better than Typora? Should I switch?

@nadropper Not yet in the current beta version, but yes typography setting will be coming later.

@BearNotesApp it won't ever have cross referencing notes? thats a KEY feature, or is it only for now.

@macleanestrada Compared to Bear, Lettera doesn't include the tag system, folding, or wikilink/backlink support. Everything else is identical. Of course feel free to give any feedback on the editor! ❤️

@BearNotesApp thanks for answer. In terms of the inner experience of the app, will it be almost the same, or the same. Of course, tags won't be what we see in the left tree panel, those will be the files. I ask, to decide if I will move to lettera. It will hurt though. Bear is my friend.

@BearNotesApp Are you planning to support frontmatter support?

@purisubzi What could happen is you dragged a folder into the Sidebar of your iCloud folder workspace, which results in copying the whole folder into iCloud. There is no import system in Lettera, each window is for a single file/folder 🙌

@BearNotesApp Great start! Is there anyway to prevent Lettera from not copying/syncing local files/folders to iCloud? I find that when I open a folder, it starts syncing to Lettera's iCloud directory.

@purisubzi Lettera opens iCloud folder by default. To open a different folder, simply drag the folder from Finder to the Lettera icon in the Dock and Lettera will open a new window for that folder as a workspace.

@mike_codes Bear stores all your notes inside the app, while Lettera is file-based, your documents live in folders on your Mac. That means you can open any md. file on your Mac to edit straightaway with Lettera 🙌

@BearNotesApp Sorry if I’m missing something, but how is this different from the current Bear app?

@wsamonx Bear is a Markdown note taking app with its own organizational system, everything is saved inside the app (works offline too!), while Lettera is a file-based editor, your files live in folders on your Mac just like any other file and you can use Lettera to read and edit them.

@BearNotesApp Is this exactly like Bear Notes app but offline and markdown ?
