#update Good news! Bear now has an official CLI, Claude Connector, and MCP Server. Build automations, connect your favorite AI tools, or just ask Claude what kind of person your notes say you are. The door is now open.

@BearNotesApp Have you built in any hashtag level inclusion or exclusion logic? There may be notes that I'm happy to include (for example, professional stuff), but other, more personal stuff I might not want to.

@NostalgicPiano Thanks for reaching out! We explored adding automatic spacing between Chinese and English/numbers, but too many edge cases made it tricky to get right. We recommend using a third-party tool (some keyboard tools support adding auto space) for now. Sorry we couldn't do better!

@CWrightswold Unfortunately we can't control how third party tools work, but we have made a lot of efforts to prevent such thing happening. That being said, we still highly recommend making regular backups. At the same time we've noted down your request for note versioning. Thank you! ❤️

@BearNotesApp This sounds fantastic, but I'm concerned that Claude might mistakenly delete all my notes. How to get around that or mitigate that? Offer us the ability to have note versioning, please.

And what I love? It's OPT-IN! None of this happens unless you manually and purposely install the necessary tools to enable it.

@msmith508 Turning off all Markdown isn't something we support (it's kind of our thing 😄), but you can escape asterisks with a backlash \* to keep them literal!
Curious though: what's your use case? That'd help us understand better 🐻❤️

@BearNotesApp make it easier to copy/paste asterisks into bear notes WITHOUT it automatically converting them into bullets…let me globally disable ALL text replacements PLEASE!

One of the most delightful and surprising moments when using a product is this: you go in assuming a certain feature probably does not exist—perhaps because it is relatively niche or not used very often—but you still decide to give it a try just in case. Then, when you discover that the feature actually does exist, you feel a small sense of delight. For many people, this is probably the kind of experience they have had with Apple products. Today, while using the @BearNotesApp App, I came across a feature that gave me exactly this kind of pleasant surprise: a button and function that lets you quickly copy the contents of a code block.

@JimLockwoodshow Hey there. VoiceOver support is something we deeply care about, but it requires rethinking core parts of the app, not just adding labels. We've hit some tough OS-level hurdles, but we're actively investigating and hope to find a solution for visually impaired users in the future.

I am frankly shocked that @BearNotesApp is not fully compatible with iOS voiceover for those who are blind and visually disabled. Many of the controls simply read out “button“ without indicating what the button is for. I was going to purchase a subscription. But I guess not

I love using @BearNotesApp for writing markdown. It's gorgeous and so smooth on mobile.
But the fact that it keeps my markdown files hidden in files means that my AI can't interact with it without an MCP.
Is Panda still being worked on? That would solve this.

and perhaps a different font so it doesn't look as branded. times new roman?
