The response was clear. The very people affected by the ban appear overwhelmingly unconvinced. Politicians often tell us they are acting in the best interests of young people. Perhaps the next question should be: Did anyone actually ask them first?

As a Muslim, there's something that genuinely bothers me. Millions of Muslims live in Christian majority countries, build mosques, preach Islam publicly, distribute Qur'ans, open halal businesses, and demand religious freedom,and rightly so. Some even call for aspects of Shariah to be accommodated in the societies they've moved to. Yet in some Muslim majority countries, Christians cannot openly preach the Gospel, build churches freely, or practice their faith without restrictions. Why? If we demand religious freedom for ourselves, we should be willing to grant it to others. Truth does not need censorship. If Islam is the truth, it has nothing to fear from a church, a Bible, or a Christian preacher. You can't demand tolerance and freedom for Muslims abroad while denying the same freedoms to others at home. The double standard needs to be called out.

If I say “the Jews are the devil’s children,” based on John 8:44, people come out of the woodwork declaring “Jesus was a Jew!” I’ve concluded that “Jesus is a Jew” is a slogan designed to protect the Jews and reduce Jesus Christ to a mere Jew; Jews are damned based on 1 Thes 2:15-16 and Isaiah 65:15. So called “Christians” aren’t doing themselves or the Gospel any favors by declaring that “Jesus is a Jew.” -- They should say, “Jesus called Jews Satan’s synagogue and the devil’s children” -- They should say “Jesus Christ is the Creator, he existed even before the world existed. -- They should say that Jesus Christ declared Himself to be God (John 8:58). But, no, they insist on spreading the Judeo-Christian gospel that elevates the Jews and deprecates Jesus Christ.

@YorkshireLad6 @AwayDaysFB Thanks. I used to live in the Midlands and drive into Rutland: the locals were very proud of their county. Also as a Somerset lad I know residents of Weston Super Mare always kept Somerset in their addresses when they were in Avon.

@adsaint17 @AwayDaysFB Yes, those were purely administrative changes, creating new council areas. Avon and Cumbria were never counties (and both now gone). Cumberland and Westmorland continued to exist, as did Somerset in its original form. Counties and councils are two very different things.
