@Google just made a quiet but massive change. They removed the num=100 param: you can no longer view 100 results at once, the max is now 10. Why does it matter? 🔴 LLMs (OpenAI, Perplexity, etc.) rely on Google’s indexed results. Overnight, their access to the “long tail” dropped by 90%. 🔴 88% of sites saw fewer impressions (Search Engine Land). 🔴 Reddit, which ranks mostly between #11–100, lost citations and $5B in market cap. For startups, this is brutal. Visibility just got harder. It’s not enough to build a great product, you need distribution first. In today’s AI era: Distribution > Product.
