@AaronSage Yo any airdrop opportunities on sei?
What types of protocols should one take a look at

@Restuta @DegenerateKong @toly Whereas scammers hold call option of spending >= cost(V_ń) if/when +EV looks positive. i.e. $BONK devs can commit $10k to grind addr "bonkReal..." $BONK FDV grows to 100M => scammers incentivized to also spend $10k+ "bonkReal...", rendering initial vanity endeavor worthless

What if we paid for compute to find sexy program/token starting strings like:
"IceCream.....xkdfkf"
And there was built-in on-chain verification, of this "proof of compute". And allow every token or program to have a "verified" attribute by just checking if it's starting characters are real words + have minimal length.
If those conditions are met, it becomes VERY hard to launch any scam tokens. As long as the creator is willing to pay for this badge (pay for cloud computing for finding it)
And if not - we can quickly develop tools and things to learn that we should not trust unverified anything. This will not fully prevent SCAMS, but will reduce the amount drastically.

@Restuta @matt_degods @DegenerateKong @toly i thought we were talking abt token address, i haven't considered metadata maybe there's something to be had there
English

@matt_degods @DegenerateKong @apecortex @toly I described the logic there, so like "if what you added to metadata matches the token name, is 1-2 real English words, and is longer than N characters"
English

@DegenerateKong @Restuta @toly @matt_degods With that being said, the topic you want to address/solve @Restuta is important.
I’ll sit on it and try to add some ideas instead of just being negative lol
English

@Restuta @DegenerateKong @toly Im also out and abt rn, sent this from my phone 5 min after seeing this.
Lmk if that makes sense, or if I’m hallucinating, or missing something
English

@Restuta @DegenerateKong @toly 2) cont’d
Assume cost Č of some unit of compute.
Cost of vanity address length Ń (V_ń) looks something like
cost(V_ń) = Č * 58^Ń
Prior to launch, team spends some amt X for some length prefix
If token successful, more economically viable to spend amt Z > X
Scammers win

@spacemandev @edgarpavlovsky naive take imo
i assume u don't write code?
English

@apecortex @edgarpavlovsky CCTP means that circle keeps the mint authority for it's usdc on the chains....
English

@apecortex @edgarpavlovsky What are you talking about? Wormhole has never supported mpc and the hack had nothing to do with mpc...also that article is wrong
English

@spacemandev @edgarpavlovsky remember when they supported Multi-Party Communication?
theverge.com/2022/2/3/22916…
English

@spacemandev @edgarpavlovsky My distilled point:
"x supports y protocol"
does NOT imply
"x inherits y's security assumptions"
English

@spacemandev @edgarpavlovsky ik im dragging wormhole there, but do you get my point?
holding USDC im convinced there's at least partial recovery in the worst case bc of corporate structure, insurance, etc
additional smart contract risk introduces tail risk
retail won't care but on-chain size will
