In an emerging trend, Arizona passed a bill this week allowing professional teams to obtain sports betting licenses in partnerships with sportsbooks. I wrote about this recent phenomenon in Arizona and elsewhere this morning on @ForbesSports forbes.com/sites/andrewjs…

March is the most wonderful time of year for many sports fans. But while the professional leagues have embraced legal sports wagering in recent years, the NCAA has remained on the sidelines. I wrote about it this morning in @ForbesSports forbes.com/sites/andrewjs…

@nydavey It would be good for revenue, and hopefully soon! Although in CA, the deadline just passed for it to get on the ballot this year, which would likely be necessary there.

I shared some thoughts on Forbes.com on the NCAA supporting rules for student-athletes to benefit from third-party endorsements starting next year, including a discussion of potential "game inregrity" benefits, as it relates to sports wagering forbes.com/sites/andrewjs…

Low tax rates are great, but unless the state's laws also allow for mobile/peer-to-peer and don't place restrictions on potential offerings (i.e. no betting on in-state colleges/no esports), whatever regulations put in place will greatly limit the state's maximum revenue

I'm excited to share my first post as a contributor to Forbes.com, in which I discuss the continued threat posed by still-thriving illegal bookmakers to the growing legal sports wagering industry in the U.S. forbes.com/sites/andrewjs…
