And there is no convincing plan on how to transition away from fossil-fuels. National voluntary action alone will not do it. Collective, global action, on finance, carbon pricing, and technology exchange are also needed, at a scale vastly exceeding what is now on the table (4/4).

Very saddened to hear about the passing of Saleem. A remarkable champion and tireless fighter for climate justice. I have very fond memories of meeting him in many occasions. The last one in Bangladesh when he kindly came to visit @icimod Board members.

This image breaks me. At 2.7 degrees of warming, which is our present policy trajectory, two billion people will be exposed to extreme heat. 99.7% of those people live in the global South. People who have done nothing to cause this crisis. The injustice is staggering.
