We are quickly going down the road of being sent back to the proverbial stone ages of weather forecasting in the CONUS. People take for granted how bad forecasts truly used to be & weren’t alive to remember a time in the distant past (19th and early 20th centuries) when it was very commonplace for many hundreds or thousands to die from a “surprise” event 🙃

Day 3 of DSS Dispatch to FEMA JFO. 1st significant #SoCal rain was pretty good. Most areas 0.50-1.00" with up to around 2.00" in the foothills/mountains...and some nice snow. Looks dry for the rest of the week with little #FireWx concerns.

Here's about how much rain we've seen from this low pressure system so far. Many areas are in the 0.30-0.50 inch range, with isolated pockets reaching 1 inch or higher. Keep in mind at high elevations, snow is expected so amounts will vary for those regions. #socal #CArain
