Delighted to see this paper led by @loolibear out finally thelancet.com/journals/lanmi… Looking prospectively at all ESBL+ samples (primarily carriage) in 2 ICUs in Hanoi over 6 months, taking weekly samples from all patients, we found huge amounts of AMR and of recent transmission 1/n

After much development, I'm happy to announce PhyloDM #bioinformatics #rust4bio. A #python and #rustlang package that converts a tree into a pairwise distance matrix. It uses ~94% less memory than DendroPy and is ~183x faster! github.com/aaronmussig/Ph…

Interested in microbial transmission? Check out our paper on the vertical transmission of all dominant symbionts in the sponge Ianthella basta. We combined 16S, TEM, and FISH to show that the transmission occurs through a unique mechanism. nature.com/articles/s4370…
