i hate to say it but a 1% tax on property over $5m you don’t live in is hard to argue against for the average voter like, the solution is simply “actually live in NYC”, “what are you so broke you can’t afford 1%?”, and “well you could just leave NYC” all are ego hits none of these property owners don’t wanna take and have a hard time refuting love or hate him, he’s actually doing something vs most mayors and tells you in the slickest way possible

@PostPattonUS @GovKathyHochul A city needs a certain amount of tax to function. Home owners pay property tax AND pay taxes on their interactions with businesses in the area. Absent property owners are causing other people to pay higher taxes to make up the city's required tax income.

Even in a one sentence propaganda statement, Hochul can't stop herself from lying to her constituents. "...to join..." - implies that second home owners do not currently pay taxes on these homes - the owners do, just like others in the state. New Yorkers that have elected these m@rxists are going to quickly find out at what point you "run out of other peoples money" to confiscate.
