@DougKyed If they can get their zone blocking more consistent it will do wonders for both. Henderson has HR speed with any opening and Mondre may not take it to the house he's certainly a guy that can make 2nd/3rd level guys miss for big runs.

There will be a competition this summer. Hard to say who would even have the edge at this point.
Xavier Bernet@holmes3127

@DougKyed Ok quick question. Rhamondre and Treveon are RB1 and RB2. Who's RB3 now? Jennings, Larrison, Miller or Montgomery?

@Savageboston @AaronWilson_NFL Makes sense to me. The FO was left intact last year when Vrabel took over. They continue to evaluate not just players or coaches. Heading into another scouting year and clearly identified areas of improvement. Especially with the 2027 talent on its way

@SteveB7SFG I agree. They lost Lowe and Munford and know they need a long term solution at RT. Munford actually played a lot in their 6 OL fronts. They needed to replace that at a minimum, and find a swing tackle for '27(was Lowe) both of which Lomu fills immediately. Future RT TBD

@TomHMagee I think they already agreed to a deal and Howie is just making moves to prepare for the trade. You could say the same cause the PATS didnt draft a WR, so suddenly Eagles have more leverage? With teams are working with the idea AJ is on the move come early June.

@NerdLSU @BuckyBrooks Value goes both ways. Most people see value when a player falls to later round than boards say or out plays their draft spot (dont know before plays an NFL snap). Some draft a guy with 5th rd grade in 3rd but he fits the mold for a switch from CB to S, only team knows that info

@BuckyBrooks Disagree. Grading against consensus boards is not about whether a team picked the best player, it's about whether they got value for the draft pick. If the consensus says the player could've been drafted a round or two later, on average(!) that's bad value.

FYI: It’s unfair to judge a team’s draft class based on Consensus Boards. Without a thorough understanding of the team’s plans for the team, players, or scheme, it’s impossible to suggest a pick is good or bad. Teams build their draft boards based on grades that project how a player will perform or contribute within their system, the Consensus Boards and media scouting reports lack that context. Without a clear understanding of the “why” behind each pick, critics are missing some key tidbits that are critical to a full assessment. In the NFL, it takes 2-3 years to determine whether players can play or not. That’s why we should reserve judgment until we see how the players perform and how teams utilize their personnel. That’s not fun, but none of us are privy to the 32 draft boards or the schematic or personnel discussions prior to the draft. We can debate who was selected and where they were picked, but until we understand the why and see how it plays out between the lines, we are still playing the guessing game.

@patsology @MikeReiss IMO its Diggs based on Reiss's assessment. There is the fact the Eagles can hit is less so lower compensation and if AJB has questions about knees lowering comp. Can't see how a 1st is in play anymore. It could be a 2nd or 3rd as primary comp, depending other assests included

The AJ Brown trade framework could either be based around three other trades (according to @MikeReiss) Davante Adams ➡️ Raiders (1st, 2nd) Stefon Diggs ➡️ Texans (2nd) Jaylen Waddle ➡️ Broncos (1st, 3rd, 4th) What's the best scenario?

@Savageboston Blay signing and with Pharms/Durden/Leonard/Farmer behind the 2 big guys is a ton of depth to go DT even in rd 5. Depth is much less at CB behind top 3 guys.

@TitleTalkTCL With Diggs's big personality gone he should have a chance. Agree on stats too. This off-season says PATS want to run more making the team balanced and fewer hits on Maye. Should make the team better preventing them from being 1D so quickly in games.

I don't think he'll make a huge statistical leap simply because his stats were so good in 2025 and the schedule will be harder but I'm expecting major mental growth
Foxboro Forever@_FoxboroForever

Drake Maye will make a big year 3 jump on the field. However, I think the most growth we will see in ‘26 is in his leadership on and off the field. He’s ready to carry more weight on his shoulders and his teammates will lean on him. It’s Drake Mayes team.

@Savageboston If you take names away (skews opinion) and look at position only. They targeted spots of need and depth, prioritizing the most critical areas early in the draft. Time will tell how it pans out, but they got the right positions. Go PATS!

@Savageboston Our top WRs arent taking many snaps in pre-season. Need bodies. That is what UDFA signings are for, not sure why folks think its PATS trying to find their next WR1, when they didnt bother picking one in the draft

@MattCouture5 Maybe Howie knows he is getting his 3rd back in '27 in AJB trade. So its a 3rd round pick this year and using money freed up by Brown trade, and a player to play immediately. AND they will be getting additional comp for Brown

@andrewadesilva Not a big deal if Vrabel isnt at draft on Day 3 if you have no day 3 picks. Chess not checkers...but seriously they are probably going to trade a player to get a pick btwn rd 3 and 5

I really don't like trading away both 4th rounders.. that could be a LB/S/TE for the future. If you go TE RD3.. now you're jumping all the way to RD5

@JimmyTalksPats Agreed. WC going to guard is like same body type as Cole Strange. There is a reason why Gs arent tall, DTs are usually shorter and strong as Oxen that if they get low will absolutely blow up OL guys. People thinks WC is bad at OT, probably worse at G, given height & weight

It’s interesting but this is a lot musical chairs for kind of no reason. AVT is best at guard. Will has never played guard. There’s an assumption he can do it without any evidence. He’s tall for a guard. A few 6’6” guards but it’s not typical. He’s not built like a G imo.

My L to R vision for the #Patriots once Morgan Moses hangs up the cleats: LT: Caleb Lomu LG: Will Campbell C: Jared Wilson RG: Mike Onwenu RT: Alijah Vera-Tucker

@smarshxo As other folks have pointed out, his contract and his fit into the scheme. He's also a non-Vrabel pick guy most of which have been purged. He does fit the bulky/strong Power mold the Eagles need at OL, so wouldn't be surprised if hes part of AJ trade & get new deal

@KeaganStiefel The team likely wont sign Onwenu next off-season, so like Boutte package either of these guys if you are able to find their replacement this year. Better long term planning and both guys are not Vrabel draft picks which he has not been shy about replacing.

Could we see a Mike Onwenu trade today? The #Patriots could do themselves a favor by resetting the clock at that spot — shipping out the veteran for some added draft capital and taking one of the options (Emmanuel Pregnon, Chase Bisontis, Brian Parker, Anez Cooper) on Day 2.

@ADPatriots Agreed. Can we appreciate the fact the PATS traded up in the 1st round to get their preferred guy. That alone is something we've rarely seen in 26 years. Its always stick and pick questionable guys or trade back for guys that didn't pan out.

As much as I have my preferences as to what positions to target and where in the draft to do it, at the end of the day I’m just happy to land good players at whatever position. After the last 10+ years of mostly bad drafts w very questionable choices just get me guys who can play

@YANGS1K Mumford was used a lot last year as a 6th OL. He's currently recovering from surgery and beleive hes a FA. Lomu could fill that role to gain experience and develop.

If Caleb Lomu redshirts 2026, it means the Patriots offensive line (Campbell, AVT, Wilson, Onwenu, Moses) stayed healthy all year. That's a good problem to have I have a feeling we will see a lot of him this year though one way or another
